There is a punch that JCC threw to get inside during the last time he put Roger Mayweather down in first fight in which he looks like he flys in the air like a little torpedo to land a hard right. Is this the superman punch? I don't know, don't watch MMA.

 

Here it is. It's at 4:19. Maybe not as spectaculor as some MMA punches but pretty cool nonetheless. Both feet come off the ground.

Anyways, the one shown in the vid of Vitale was not exactly a good one. He was wide open to a counter, and it likely would not have landed against a good boxer. Ones done properly are the ones normally done by GSP, where he jumps off the right foot, feinting with the left, and switching to the right Superman punch. It comes quick and is hard to counter, but definitely possible. Probably not the wisest move in boxing.

 

Not the same thing and Roger was at an angle and hurt before he threw that punch.

Boys, the reason they can get away with it at times is because the opponent has to guard against a kick or a flying knee. The flying knee is what you first have to guard against because that is most certainly a knock out. A flying round house kick or a jumping spinning rear kick can also do damage. The punch is the least powerful of the three.

Take it from a kickboxer/fighter:

The only reason it works in mma/kickboxing is because as you jump, you fake a low leg roundhouse.

Thai fighters and mma fighters react to that move, whereas it's not allowed in boxing.

So a boxer would ignore the leg faint and counter the punch with ease.

 

You are quite wrong actually. I never even watched the vid of the super man punch, you know why? I don't care too. I was merely making a point that I think MMA is trash in comparison to Boxing and that the people who try to says its better are just primitive morons who like dirty street brawls, brawls with lots of rolling around on the ground.

Not fully true. It has some of the same fan base sure, kind of like boxing does, what with it's biggest star making frequent appearances.
