When he jumps, I'd step straight forward and throw a straight right as hard as possible and knock his teeth down his ****ing throat.

The reason mma guys can pull that off, is cause they have to watch for the feint with the legs, whereas in boxing you need only be concerned with the upper half of an opponents torso. Couldnt work in boxing it would get countered all day

That punch appears to work there because he leads with his Knee, faints slightly and pretends to throw the knee, then lands the punch. Obviously you can't knee someone in boxing so theres no distraction and no need to keep an eye on it. Therefore the punch, in boxing, is telegraphed, easily countered, and probably with a near KO as the person jumps with there full force into a counter punch.

Well the closest i ever saw thrown in a boxing match close to a superman punch was Julio Cesar Chavez on Roger Mayweather. That was awesome he took a big jump and landed flush on his chin and dropped him.

It works in MMA because in MMA you have so many other things to try and defend against. When someone is loading up for a Superman punch, it looks like it could be about 4 different things coming at you. If you defend the wrong one, you end up eating the shot. With boxing being such a limited combat sport... you can't exactly fool someone into believing that you might be kicking, kneeing, or going for a takedown. Everyone knows that only punches are allowed, so they are much easier to defend.

No one said that you were a moron. Those of us who like MMA are not all trailor trash either. I am 53 years old A retired teacher, wrestling coach and have trained MMA fighters (it is getting popular among high school wrestlers) I was a silver mittens boxer and studied karate and Kick boxing since I was 18 I like boxing better. There is a strategy in both sports In MMA you cannot recover from a mistake. Boxing you can. Most of the guys who really stick with MMA and who are good have had an extensive wrestling background and usually well educated. A person coming off of the street to learn are shocked.

What would the point of faking a kick in boxing be?

This is how a properly executed one should look, you can also modify it by throwing an elbow, or resetting and throwing the kick you faked.

Keep in mind that in order for this to work you have to have the opponent respecting the kick or knee, or else the person will just eat it and try to counter with a punch.

GSP can change it up and throw it with the lead leg and lead hand, something you dont see much but his lead leg kick is brutal.
