I been watching boxing since the 80's and it is the the only sport that has been taking over 100 years to die (FACT!) there is always some kid somewhere IN THE WORLD that is in the gym working on being the next (insert name here)the K-BROS said watching mike tyson made them want to do it there a kid right now that wants to be the next Manny or Floyd etc. its the circle of life instead of looking for the next, the next always come to the forefront

i take comfort from that. I worry that boxing has other hurdles in that it's not the kind of sport that people play in the playground like basketball etc. Thanks for the great responses guys

There will be superstars as long as there are superfights.

That's why it's important to stop throwing money at mother****ers named pacquiao and mayweather and give some of the younger guys a shot. May and Pac wont be here forever. this is coming from a fan of both

I don't think boxing will die if there are no major superstars; it's resilient and year after year of entertaining fights ensure people will watch the sport and it will make money.

At the same time, I wonder who is supposed to take over the spotlight. I get the fact that generation after generation passes the torch, but I still worry sometimes that I look around and don't see any potential ATGs. I guess you don't know them until they get there, we'll have to wait and see I suppose.
