Support programme ideas for Boxnation

1 hour special on boxers past and presant and inside look at gyms around the country including amateur clubs

 

I'd love something to do with significant fights throughout history, like ITV used to do on their secondary channels. That was how I first watched Arguello-Pryor 1, think it was on a Sunday morning on itv2, top stuff!

 

Please please not a bunch of journalists pushing out their agendas.

I think that the format for Sporting Triangles may be available. C'mon Buncey get that Lyle and Scott sweater on, team captains Kirkland Laing and Lloyd Honeyghan job done.

 

Top 10s would be a great idea, a daily news show repeated throughout the day would be handy too. Plenty of documentaries they could buy to fill up air time cheap, surely?

 

I would love a Sunday Supplement show, i.e about 10am on a Sunday morning to wrap up the weekends fights and discussion points. Although I wouldnt have journos (or use them sparingly), as there is a dearth of real old school journos, instead I would bring in ex-fighters, trainers - people with a lot of experience and knowledge of the game.

If Sunday Supplement did happen, then move Bunce's Hour to a Wednesday.

Other things that I would suggest are short documentaries of under card fighters/prospects -to go around the gyms to do features on them, their training routines, their story....

Have the Bunce Hour up against Ringside, then I've got an excuse to miss Johnny Nelson trying to sound like he knows what he's on about.

I like Bunce hour on a monday. it can act as a review show. then you have the bbc and ringside for the previews.

sunday supplement would work but it couldnt be at 10am. if there were big fights the night before they wouldnt sleep lol

I love Buncey but....he can't be on every show.

 

Bunce hour as a podcast? I have more time during my commute to listen rather than watch on the tv so would be ideal for me, had it with the Setanta show so should be do-able

 

Yip fully agree here, i still can't believe they never showed the weigh in for Cleverly-Bellew, dedicated boxing channel should certainly have this sort of thing atsch

Also could do some 24/7 sort of show following fighters before there match ups, they're a young channel i understand but there's plenty of opportunities for them to take!

 

I need Bunceys Hour to be regular. Based on what you said about the refs, I think I missed the last one, that isn't good news for me.

I suggest Monday so you can assess the weekends fights or Thursday so you can assess what is ocming up ahead.

Youth Hostelling with Chris Eubank?

 

I like the suggestion of "Top 10/Countdown style shows".

Documentaries on classic British fights would be good. Get Eubank involved somehow!

Another thing you could do--and this would probably never happen because I imagine it would be (wrongly) seen to "lower the tone" or whatever--but you could have a programme where you focus on the ring card girls and get them to do some (tasteful) nude or semi-nude modelling.
