Dawson fought three times last year, I think Dawson wanted to take a brake for a while, many boxers feel like they need a brake from all that preperation for a fight. What you're saying is that he's ducking both Johnson and Diaconu, which I don't think is true, since he has agreed to fight both.

he doesn't want to risk his title (and his career) against a no-name opponent for a small purse when he has all these mega-fights looming in the horizon, even though he would more than likely beat Diaconu.

anyone would want the same if they were in the same shoes.

on a side note people are always complaining about how european boxers accumulate alot of defences against no-name mandatories but often it takes more balls to fight a no-name opponent that you should beat than a big-name opponent that should be a tough fight.

I am arguably the biggest Diaconu supporter on this site....That being said I don't hate Dawson..I respect his superb skill..He IS a great fighter however so is Diaconu...Stylisticly their just different...Masters of their style
Both have an excellent sense of timing and distance
Both have controlled every fight they've ever been in with ease(no gift decisions for these two)
Dawson is hard to hit but so is Diaconu
Both have similar skills they just go about their craft abit differently(Diaconu is almost forced to fight the way he does because of his size)
    Both are extremely exciting
My reason for Diaconu winning is quite simple and easily imagined by even an unbiased Dawson fan....If their is a question about Diaconus opponenets chin whether it's Dawson or not it will be tested....
Any questionable chin vs. Diaconu= KO for Diaconu....in my opinion...
As I've said before I'm not knocking Dawson he's superb
Diaconu will beat Dawson just as he has beaten Tiwon Taylor, and Rico Hoye....2 fighters that tried to do what Dawson will do
You people must realize he's 5'9 and fought giants his whole life that think they can outslick and outbox Diaconu they sadly are no longer with us:-( Let's hope this fight happens
It could be a Marquez-Vazquez type fight which would be good for everyone...My verdict for a Diaconu KO is based on the fact that Diaconu will land flush with his left hook...that being said Dawson will do what any mortal would do..retreat..this is when Adi smells the fear and goes in for the kill....it will be vicious and brutal....much like watching National Geographic.....This doesnt mean I think Dawson is weak or not good...it means Diaconu is just a nightmare stylistically for Dawson....Back to the title of this thread Dawson isn't ducking anyone....lets just wait and see how the Dawson fight goes as we all know Johnson will be no walk in the park:good Cheers

Well who has Dawson beat? Adamek? sorry no good....this does nothing to prepare him for the punishment that will be put down by Diaconu....Dawson fans will soon be Diaconu fans it's only a matter of time....Diaconu is a warrior and will prove this to all the hype buying americans...it's only a matter of time:yep

If you are talking about stylistical nightmares, I think AD will wilt when Dawson dominates and outboxes him en route to a mid round TKO. I don't see what so special about Diaconu, he is slow and his power is vastly overrated by nuthuggers like you.

The guy is plodding and throws haymakers. He gets hit EASY and tries to trade. He needs to have his feet planted to get ANY power in his shots and Dawson would keep his stiff ass turning. GTFO

Adamek was a former champion that was utterly outclased by Dawson. Chad also beat Harding. Both of those guys are much better than Rico Hoye:deal

I think Dawson is alot like RJJ. Dawson is going to look really good until he gets hit, and then he is going to crumble. What makes this fight intesting is that Dawson could win every round, get hit by one big punch and be laid out.

Mayweather Sr. says , you can see right through his chin.

And this is relevant how? Who had Dawson beat before he got his shot gainst Adamek? A washed up Harding?
