How would that affect your opinion of each fighter? Would Witter get full credit or would we get the Hatton was past his prime excuse. Will people knock Hatton?

There is no way anybody can say Hatton is past his prime. What is he 28 years old with 1 loss?

Witter would (or should) get the credit he deserves for doing so.

There would be none of this 'past his prime' bollocks - at the end of the day, you can only beat the fighter in front of you. That's what pisses me off when people deride Ricky's victories over Tszyu and Castillo.

How about Joppy's victory over Duran or Camacho's victory over Leanord or Spinks over Ali? There is a point where it is a valid point to say that a guy was past his prime. I would say you could apply it to Castillo but not Tzyu

Yeah, I'd give credit to Witter, I'd expect him to do it too.

I thought Hatton was on the slide after the Urango fight but his showing against Floyd raised my respect for him, he went half the fight with the best there is without looking that much out of his depth, I thought he'd be absolutely humiliated after a round or two.

How you guys think that it would affect everyone's opinion of Floyd victory over Hatton especially if Witter gets the job done faster.

OH! if that happens expect Witter to say "again" that he has the skills to beat Mayweather.

Witter would go the distance with Mayweather to be fair - the bike will be in full operation though!

Not at all. Styles make fights. Witter is a much harder and concussive puncher than Floyd. Floyds win wouldnt be discredited in the slightest. It would simply mean that Hatton was overrated and wasnt that good in the first place.

Mayweather's a more effective puncher than Witter.

You're more likely to be KO'd by Mayweather than Witter.

So don't you thikn that would take away from Floyds win. I mean he beat a guy that wasn't that good to begin with.

Yes he is past his peak- 28 but looks older with lots of hard fights and the worst diet in boxing. Look at his last 5 fights, not so good, tho I actually thought his last performance was ok considering the ref was a *****

He should retire after 2 more fights

Its subjective. Hatton is still one of the best in the world at his weight but his not up there with the elites at welterweight. If he was he`d be in the mix. The fight happened for monetary reasons only in my opinion.

that really has nothing to do with it though mac...

a fighter with his style and LIFEstyle... could EASILY be past his prime.

I have no doubt his best days are behind him.

Hatto is the undisputed champion at 140 and there's no changing that. Whoever he fights at 140 he will more than likely beat them. I'm going to say that Hattons next loss will come at the hands of Amir Khan. Once Khan gets a belt at 135 he'll move up to 140 and take Hattons lineage
