It just seems to me that Wilder is stepping into the ring with somebody who seems to be in worse shape and coming off a more poor run of form than he did last time they fought. I do not understand how Stiverne has got anywhere near a mandatory position. Im not even sure he should be ranked in the top 15, nor does anybody else other than the WBC themselves who just seem to what ever they want no matter how unexplainable cuz they dont have to explain anything to anybody.
I actually think Wilder has regressed in his recent fights. I actually think we will see a worse Wilder than in Wilder / Stiverne 1. If only Stiverne hadn't come in looking like the Hindenberg's twin brother, I might say he had a decent chance. Instead, he's probably gonna get blown out.
It's unbelievable people are talking up this fat blob. This fight is a farce and discredits the sport. I won't be watching it that's for sure. This is why boxing is undermined time and time again, because fools keep tuning in to watch mismatches out of sheer blind devotion to their favourite fighter.
I don't know about anybody else, but I tune in to see this fraud get his glass jaw shattered. May not happen in this fight, but it WILL happen soon!
There is a realistic chance that Wilder never fights a live contender. His next few fights could be Stiverne, Breazeale, Molina etc....maybe even another Stiverne fight if this one is remotely close.
That isn't going to happen tonight. You're only making him richer when you tune in to see him knock out cans.
We're still getting the Monaco card. That one features a couple of gimme's as well like Bivol vs Breadhustler, but also the rematch between Solis and McDonnell, Kabayel vs Chisora and Quigg vs unknown Yefimovych.
What hurts Stiverne most is his inactivitly. He is taking on a guy who has been way more active. Stiverne is more skilled than Wilder in my view. But the conditions for an upset do not seem to be there. But we will see.
I'd really prefer to see Wilder knock him out. Send him in vs Oquendo once this farce is over. I'll be glad to see some of the "contenders" that somehow linger at the top getting mandatory shots get cleared away.
THIS. i too think wilder has gone backwards dont think stiverne is the man to show it looking at his rolls of fat in the weigh in but wilder fought well and sisciplined in the first fight and wild and poor in his 5 defnses maybe he has been facing soft punchers and does not fear any counters/ we shall see in this fight which is an obvious yardstick
It is a total mismatch anyways. If you go life and death with Rossy in his last fight, it is not a good sign. WBC is a disgrace!
