Mayweather fighting berto or Mayfield would solidify his cherry picking ways it is already but it would put more cherries on top of the big cake which already has loads of cherries........

You can say Manny cherry picked plenty of guys if you claim Mayweather did. Sure he could've fought Williams and Margarito but he fought other good opposition who you'd claim he ducked if he fought the prior two instead. Sure, the weaker of his wins, he fought Guerrero, Baldomir, Ortiz... yet they were rated and credible, so not exactly 'cherry picked'. Floyd fought much better versions of Hatton, De La Hoya, Mosley and Cotto at his proper weight. He rematched Maidana, fought Canelo and Pacquiao with his proper gloves. Manny fought Rios instead of Alvarado, Algieri and Margarito after Mosley stopped him... so why isn't Manny a cherry picker too, because he has many great wins and some 'cherry picked' ones according to your logic.

 

And Pac lost to this feather fisted, cherry picking fraud... what does that make Pacquiao??! :nut

See, this logic to me is the problem. Floyd is getting a guaranteed 30+ mil....to fight f*cking Berto??? Gtfoh.

Some say he "earned" an easy fight and that's bs too. What he DID earn was nearly 300mil for fighting the guy he was supposed to fight. That was his reward...not fighting some "never was" like Berto.

 

How many guys are threats? It becomes a matter of niggling degrees at this point.

Yeah, maybe someone like Khan is slightly more of a risk than Berto...slightly. Nobody in the weight range is really worthy. No matter what, any choice is going to be called a cherry pick (which is screwed up logic until someone can provide the name of who exactly WOULDN'T be...)

Now don't go saying I said cherry pick. Berto is a terrible opponent. Period. Using your logic, if there is no real extreme variance in opponents (risk wise) then why not fight the most perceived risk? Hell, why not the most marketable then? Your logic makes it look like a worse selection. If the risk is near identical, then why not fight the guy who, after tonight will be coming off a sensational Ko and is perceived as the future?

 

The man said BERTO or MAYFIELD. What don't people get about this? It's either the long awaited show down that Victor and Robert ruined, on what was clearly the best nights of their lives or it's May vs May all day bay bay! Either way we are in for a treat. Let's get it!
