He can fight anyone he wants at this point.

Unless he's going up to the full 160 to fight Gennady or Cotto, his next match is going to be perceived as a let down considering he just fought the other great standout of his generation.

And who exactly is the fighter that has the most "perceived risk" as you so eloquently stated? It's all subjective really. I thought Canelo was going to be such a tough out for Mayweather, than he ended up getting embarassed in that fight. If you told people 3 years ago that Marcos Maidana would give a tougher fight to Mayweather than Canelo Alvarez, I don't think anyone would believe that. My point is, until they actually get into the ring and face Mayweather, it's hard to say who would give him a tough fight at 147 or 154.

At this point, it really doesn't matter. If people are super critical of who he fights next and don't like the matchmaking, than just don't watch the fight. Pretty simple. You think FLoyd gives a $hit what internet posters deem to be a veritable challenge for him? Come on now.

 

It's pretty simple guy: Who does most of the boxing world think is a bigger (perceived) threat? Berto...who is 3-3 in his last 6...or Keith Thurman who is undefeated? You can knock Thurmans resume all you want, but Berto's is sh*t.

Floyd DOESN'T give a sh*t, that's my whole point. I thought that was obvious. And your point about Maidana/Canelo is NOT relevant here. There's no one left to fight for Money. He beat everybody. It's pretty bad when people are debating between Khan and Berto as the two finalists to fight him.

Whoever he ends up choosing, I just hope it's an exciting fight. I hope he takes some risks in this fight, which he might considering he's probably fighting a lower level opponent.

 

Its his last fight ,he can do what he wants ,maybe he'll fight someone with a 48 hour notice.

 

He's been carefully selecting his opponents for several years now. Why expect him to take a real threat now right? :yep
