I was joking anyway. But yeah, the second is great too, showing dimensions of Gonzalez we'd forgotten existed.

Nigel Benn v Gerald McClellan NB: excuse my Aussie bias at the end there. I could easily swap Tszyu v Judah for Corrales v Castillo I, but I think Judah being knocked out was unexpected and the funniest KO of all time.
I'm not asking to criticize, cuz I luv these fights myself, but why do you have the Charles-Walcott fights on here? it seems like everyone detests those, aside from III. But then u leave out 2?
I think the first is one of the most skillful fights ever to occur in a heavyweight ring. The third needs no explanation.
Yeah, I've always thought the 1st three were great fights, then the 4th happened and was so awful, but even that one gets some unnecessary flack. It was pretty competitive 4 the last five rounds.

That could change, but as of right now, this is my list.
Jason Thomas list: 1--Joe Louis-Max Schmeling (2)--(for historical importance) 2--Jack Johnson-Jim Jeffries--(for historical importance. This one is a dull fight) 3--Sugar Ray Leonard-Marvin Hagler 4--Sugar Ray Robinson-Gene Fullmer (2)--(p4p best claimant's most impressive KO) 5--Fighting Harada-Eder Jofre (1)--(two of the best little men) 6--Kid Gavilan-Billy Graham (3)--(fine fight and interesting to judge controversy) 7--Jimmy McLarnin-Benny Leonard--(Benny is old but this a good film and one can still see what made him great. McLarnin also top man of era) 8--Max Schmeling-Joe Louis (1)--(a great fight to watch and of interest for showing skill of time) 9--Ike Williams-Beau Jack (1)--(shows great lightweight Williams at peak and with a great ending) 10-Henry Armstrong-Barney Ross--(two triple champions) 11-Sugar Ray Robinson-Randy Turpin (2)--(Robinson at his peak against his toughest opponent) 12-Bob Fitzsimmons-Jim Corbett--(may not meet the surviving footage criteria, but we have quite a bit and it is a must see for a boxing fan) 13-Tony Canzoneri-Kid Chocolate (1)--(two of the top men of the era) 14-Rocky Marciano-Jersey Joe Walcott (1)--(excellent fight, and the pivotal win in Marciano's career) 15-Archie Moore-Yvon Durelle (1)--(one of the greatest comebacks on film) 16-Sam Langford-Fireman Jim Flynn (3)--(an impressive KO by one of the early greats) 17-Gene Tunney-Jack Dempsey (2)--(must watch for the long count, and the rest of fight is interesting, showing Tunney's skill) 18-Muhammad Ali-George Foreman--(defined greatness) 19-Carlos Monzon-Nino Benvenuti (1)--(impressive KO by one of the greats) 20-Pernell Whittaker-Julio Cesar Chavez--(two of the greats of era) 21-Buster Douglas-Mike Tyson--(great fight and pivotal for defining Tyson's legacy) 22-Joe Louis-Blly Conn (1)--(great fight and fine duo display of skill) 23-Willie Pep-Sandy Saddler (3)--(possibly two greatest featherweights) 24-Roberto Duran-Estaban de Jesus (3)--(Duran at peak) 25-Archie Moore-Harold Johnson (5)--(excellent display of skill) I tried for a wide ranging historical perspective. Lots of fights I would have wanted to add, like Ali-Frazier 3, but kept to 25.
