Criteria, for me, is simple. The fights I found most enjoyable. I tend to prefer wars than technical fights.
I easily, and I mean easily could have just used HW fights for that. Dempsey vs Willard Dempsey vs Firpo Schmelling vs Louis Louis vs Schmelling Louis vs Conn Louis vs Walcott Walcott vs Charles Marciano vs Walcott Marciano vs Charles Marciano vs Moore Patterson vs Ingo Liston vs Patterson Holmes vs Norton Holmes vs Cooney Douglas vs Tyson Holyfield vs Bowe Lewis vs Briggs Lewis vs Vitali Easily could have made my list. Easily.
IMO boxing is filled with so many great and exciting fights, hard hitting chess matches, slugfests and Brawls, technical and tactical masterpieces, one sides clinics, come from behind victories....that my list would fluctuate on a weekly/monthly basis if I tried to answer it. This is a tough job
