I'm guessing those with C have completed their lists? Does this mean they are now set in stone? Well, I've just finished, but will probably continue tweaking up until the deadline, if that's okay. I'm pretty happy with my efforts. I've been compiling them for about two and a half years, but obviously continue to learn from the more experienced posters here, as time goes on. As I said before, if you think I'm just a clown then just give my contributions a less significant weighting, or completely disregard them, as you see fit. I won't be offended. Just pleased to take part. Thank you.
No. Nothing is set in stone until the deadline. That's just so I know a 'completed list' is the most recent. Feel free to update and make as many tweaks as you'd like up until the deadline. Incidentally, I may actually push the deadline back a few days. Not sure I will have a chance to get to it until a couple of days after it's slated, and I'd like to keep it open up until the moment I plan to start working on it.
Whether people agree or disagree with them, that's a list of truly knowledgeable posters who really back up their opinions and arguments. Good shout out.
Tbf, I find the majority of posters in classic are good. You have to have some nerd level of obsession with boxing to dedicate your time to debating fighters from 100 years ago lol.
At risk of being rude, I'll add two more names: Shout out to @surfinghb1 , just because he's the poster with whose opinions I most frequently agree. And @Flea Man because his knowledge of the lower weights and, almost certainly beyond, is absolutley ridiculous compared to most.
George, have consistently liked your posts since I joined, and agree with your analysis on many fights, and fighters, so looking at your Welter list, am somewhat surprised to see Rodriguez rated so high ! above luminaries such as Napoles, Basilio, Burley, I mean he didn,t manage 1 defense of the title, was beaten 13 times overall, granted he beat some good fighters along the way, Briscoe, Manning, to name a few, but he lost to Cokes twice, hope you dont see this as me getting out of my pram, as I respect a lot of what you say/write.
I like your posts to! IMO, Rodriguez is truly brilliant. And going off his résumé at welterweight, I'd say he's definitely above Basilio and Burley. Burley's main achievements are getting ducked by Robinson, and beating Zivic at 147. Rodriguez on the other hand, has wins over Paret, Akins, Griffith, Cokes, Moyer ect; and his losses are either controversial, or whilst he was struggling to make weight. And the one where he wasn't (Cokes I iirc) he was in with someone real good. Basilio is a favourite of mine, but his résumé isn't too deep at 147, with his best win coming at MW. Ortega, DeMarco, Saxton and an aging Graham aren't something to scoff at (obviously, since I have him top 15). Luis' is clearly better IMO. Napoles could be argued over him due go his title reign, but I went for Rodriguez coz he beat a much better version of Griffith, and has a deeper résumé. I also pick Rodriguez to beat Napoles H2H.
Now it's going to look like I'm piling in @George Crowcroft! I had noticed Rodriguez at no. 9 but hadn't realised Napoles was one place beneath. I have Napoles at 3, which is obviously high up, but I feel he has a good case. I have Rodriguez at 13 by way of comparison. Also, just wondering about McLarnin being above Barney Ross at welterweight. I'm not sure I'm clear on that one. I mean, we've got 12 of the same names in our top 15 so we're mostly talking about positioning here rather than disagreeing about names...
McLarnin's run from Petrolle III, to his fight with Ambers, was outstanding IMO. His wins over Petrolle, Corbett, Ross, Canzoneri, Fuller and Ambers is better than Ross' work at 147 IMO. Although I rate Ross higher P4P - due to his superior work at 135/140 - at 147, I like Jimmy's better résumé, and I've never really counted for losses.

@choklab Nice lists. Very high rating of Georges Carpentier, could you explain that a bit? You missed Tunney in the L. Heavyweight rankings BTW (which I premuse was an oversight since you rated him P4P)
