he has very good defense which is why he’s never had his chin properly tested. He was terrified to engage with de los santos and almost got dropped by a jab in the Zepeda fight. I may not be correct but it’s just something I suspect

 

He’s high profile enough and has been fighting long enough (amateur and pro) that we’d know if he had a chin issue. Maybe it’s the case that his chin is merely average, but we’d know if he was packing glass, even with his excellent defense and defensive style.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes his entire career without being off his feet.

I think the Zhang fight made him suspect but overall I agree. Even in that fight Deontay was clearly dazed/concussed. We all know he has no problem going out on his shield and he would have if he could have.

 

It feels to me like fighters aren't allowed to get KOd once or else their chin gets questioned. Not all of them can be superhuman like Wardley, getting stopped on their feet after being beaten half-to-death and still refusing to go down.
