If Ottke was fighting in the US and Hopkins in Germany for all of their career Otkke would be consider top5 SMW ever.
Ottke himself was pretty much past it then. He got an easy farewell fight and then called it a day. But you are a Calzaghe nuthugger so argueing with you is pointless.
Nah, there was one robbery and just like another poster said, he had many close fights. Many people, especially British, are biased against him and count every close fight as a robbery what just is BS. At the first page is a thread that summarizes his career very well.
There were many robberies, you are just not objective. It is the Sauerland mafia, you can't win close fights on points in Germany. Only time it happened was Hill-Maske in 1996 and that was more because of Hill's status. Give me another example then? Brewer I, Reid and that Danish fighter were plain out robberies. In addition, be aware of the fact that Ottke was only the challenger for Brewer I. Why did Ottke get a title shot anyway as he had only very few fights? Well, it was strictly due to his manager's good relation with the IBF. Brewer II and Mitchell were closer fights but in my opinion Ottke lost them both. The Tate had a questionable ending. ottke was ahead but then they stopped just as Tate was coming on in the later rounds. To make matters even worse Ottke was informed in all of his fights about the official scorecards of the judges. This is strictly illegal.
:rofl:rofl:rofl You talking about me beeing not objective? Yeah, for sure. Read the thread again and you will realize you made a joke out of yourself. I won´t argue with you, your post shows that there is no point in it. I mean you thought Ottke lost the second fight with Brewer an Mitchell. :rofl
Justify your heros continued looking at the ref for assistance in the Reid fight. I have never EVER seen any other professional fighter behaving in this pathetic and disgraceful manner. If you don`t believe my memory serves me correctly in this as a "Calzaghe nuthugger",then ask the neutrals on here about the way Ottke behaved in that fight.
What are you talking about? did I ever even try to justify what Ottke did in that fight? Read my posts. I wrote Reid was robbed. I also wrote that I dislike Ottke. So, what´s your point? Fact is that Ottke was on the slide for quite a time before he faced Reid. And that he was quite past it when he fought him. We know the story of the fight and after that one Ottke had one "goodbye-fight" against an easy opponent. You are a Calzaghe nuthugger. You only comment on any topic somehow beeing related to Joe C. You also proved time and time again you twist facts to fit your arguement and that it´s impossible to discuss with you. That´s why I won´t do it. Take it or leave it, doesn´t matter to me, sweetheart.
For the sake of accuracy, I should point out here that Joe fought outside Wales on many occasions, just usually in England - but England is not Wales - ask a Welshman. Joe did of course also fight in Denmark and then in Germany just after Ottke retired. Joe hated the idea of travelling as much as Ottke but Joe has gone on the road when he's needed to to cement his legacy and Ottke never did - and that's a big difference. You can't in all honesty say Ottke was running from Calzaghe as Joe wasn't chasing too hard. Nor was there the huge public clamour you normally get with two undefeated champions in one division - it would probably have been a stinker of a fight.
Look its simple. Anyone who thinks Ottke was a very good or even great champion - I'll recognise their opinion if they are prepared to watch one Ottke fight a week for the rest of their lives without growing to hate the man. If some fighters are great classical artists in the ring painting complex patterns on a canvas and others are shock artists with bold aggressive moves and shapes, then Ottke was the bloke with a roller brush painting the outside of a factory grey on some windblasted industrial estate just off a highway going nowhere.
You post contains no added value at all. What is your position regarding the following points of my previous post: 1) Ottke was informed between rounds about the official scorecards. This is strictly illegal. What about that? 2) The point is Ottke lost unquestionably to Brewer I, Reid and that Danish fighter. Do you deny that? 3) Ottke had the nod in very close fights with a lot of other fighters: Mitchell Brewer II, among others...Do you think that this was a coincidence? 4) The Tate was stopped but the cut was not severe enough to warrant a stoppage. What do you say about that? Well, as you can see may post pointed out several valid points but of course you must have the intelligence to recognise and deal with them.
:yep Just to add, the Reid fight wasn't just a robbery it was outright corruption. A robbery can just be down to poor scoring. The Ref wasn't inept, he was cheating to get the home fighter the win. Big difference, and it's a shame more wasn't made of it at the time. R
