Every boxing fan has seen that it was a disgrace, BUT Ottke hasn´t only fought Reid. In every thread some smartass drops that name....

Not too familiar with Rosi so can't really comment on him. Ottke had decent skills but was beaten at least a couple of times despite what the records show (Reid and Larson immediately spring to mind). Whilst some of his other fights were very debatable sometimes this gets exagerated due to the scores that were given.

It happens often that when a debatable decision comes in it gets blown into a robbery by the fact that the scores are so riddiculous.

Reid had definately given up by the later stages of the fight but it was still a comfortable win for him and certainly not the 5 rounds to Ottke that one judge had it.

If you were Calzaghe's manager would you send him to Germany to fight Ottke?

    Don't forget as well......

Ottke managed to go twelve rounds with the incredible Tocker Pudwill. No mean achievement!!!

Also the poll needs a none of the above because there is absolutely no way that Ottke would have gone to Italy.

Mats Larsen was a close fight and can be given to Ottke with home/champion bonus. When I watched it at the time I had it a draw...

Not at all. How can you score a fight where one fighter is punished by the ref for legal punches? Reid should have won, no doubt.

That´s totally overblown. He made most of his fights close because he ran when he had the fight in the bag, giving away rounds. There was ONE robbery in his career and a few close fights. That´s it.

Larsen did not deserve to win. He just didt nothing, it´s not that Ottke won but Larsen lost. This was such a bad fight. Should have been a no contest IMO.

Tell that to the revs in every second fight. There should not be a hometown/champion bonus but sadly it´s reality ;)

Just like Ottke, good skills, hard to beat and he was very mobile. Won a couple of decisions he should have lost with big point difference eventough he had the circumstances in his favour... Was in his prime in the mid to late 80's until early 90's. Did fight some good fights overseas though (mostly when he wasn't the champion). In one of his fights it was the first time I heard a commentator say; 'he has to knock the guy out twice to get the win'... I heard that remark later for Sven also, that's why I always think of the other when I see one of them.
