Sven Ottke vs. Robin Reid- Robbery

    What a comedy show. If there was ever a fight that could turn somebody off boxing this would be it.

    Clear win for Reid who scored a knockdown and instead of scoring points was actually deducted a point. The best Ottke could do was hug and skip laps around the ring backwards. He refused to put any heart or effort in the fight and sobbed to the ref everytime he took shots to the body. Reid landed clean timed hooks all night on Ottke that shook him everytime they landed. Got out worked and out boxed.

    Ottke went home the victor. Crazy decision.

    Disgusting decision.. The ref and judges were a complete joke..

    Ottke is the greatest fraud of all time..

    The most blatant display of corruption I have ever witnessed is a boxing ring. Never seen a fighter warned every time for legally hitting an opponent to the body. The point deduction was beyond belief. Still makes me angry thinking about this fight.

    I distinctly remember Reid blatantly punching poor Sven in the face in that bout! He was lucky to get away with only a stern warning from the referee (Roger Tilleman)... he should have been disqualified right there on the spot! :bart

    Can you imagine young boxers see that and start punching eachother in the face too during matches... total anarchy I tell ya! TOTAL ANARCHY! :twisted:

    The cause of the point deduction you stipulate is a myth.

    The fight should really be known for the most biased commentary ever displayed by a British commentator.
