Probably. That happens sometimes - it happened when Brewster knocked his opponent down. The ref just stopped the count.
You ever seen the film Hostel? I want them to do another sequel, with Sven strapped into the chair in the basement and then......Robin Reid walks in with his butchers apron on and a rusty hacksaw in his right hand. Ahhhhh!!!! Revenge, sweet revenge.
Firstly, he was a runner and secondly there are examples of gross bias from the referees at times in his career, Reid v Ottke being the prime example where there ref just ignored the fact that Reid had knocked Ottke down and actually deducted points from Reid for having the audacity to hit Ottke during a boxing match, constantly breaking up the fight when Reid landed a good shot - so how exactly was he going to KO him? Sometimes the odds are stacked too heavily in your opponents favour.
Good point. Ottke deserves his share of citicism, but none of his fights were as much a robbery as Lewis - Holyfield, yet nobody accuses Evander like they accuse Ottke. Looking to the ref for help stinks, but is a lesser crime IMO than headbutting and elbowing your opponent, risking his health, like some widely admired fighters do. Ottke was a good amateur who got into the pros very late, he had some skills and was very much protected, but he wasn't everything that is bad about boxing.
I mean he beat James Butler who was a huge puncher. He beat alot of fighters who could punch and he never got stopped. I think he is being treated unfair by alot of people who have not even seen him box. What in everyone's opinion is Ottkes finest performances?
Have you seen Ottke v Reid? That is about 426823478942 times more of a robbery than Lewis v Holyfield. Haha, yes.
his best performance was brewer 2 he won that clearly and boxed very well. especially given that i thought ottke lost the first brewer fight clearly.
