With Enzo obviously being a Swans fan and Haye being a big Millwall fan there could be mayhem! I was at the same fixture last year and it was crazy, lots of fighting after the match. There will surely be lots of swans fans on the same train as millwall fans after the match going to see the fight. I hope the police will be ready for this as it could be riots. I will be taking the early train that day no doubt.
I hate the way the football tribe mentality is making it's way into boxing. It's mainly brought by new fans who don't know what boxing is all about.
It would have been worse if the Swansea - Millwall game was at Millwall. As it is, most of the firms top men will be in Wales. Might be why the fight is in London and not South Wales. Looks like I am going anyway. I might get a specially made footy shirt for the night, half West Ham and half Cardiff City.
Could it be that football is no longer a "working mans" sport, and boxing to a degree is coming back as that ?
i would normally agree, however fwank just robbed me of £310 for five tickets so i have changed my mind...
Rikcy Hatton's mob being the best example. I experienced them first hand when supporting Oliveira in the Docklands.
I was at that fight and yes their was a few numpties but you get that everywhere. But their will be a pitch battle if haye ko's maccranelli or the other way round. I mean I was at millwall this season and they were throwing bottles coins and so forth on the pitch and trying to get to one of our players fair enough it was lee hughes. Oh and swansea were a bit of an handful for GMP when they were at boundary park. OH By the Way Oldham for the CUP!
is he getting a lot of stick, John B? good draw form Oldham in the cup. I might go to this Haye-Enzo fight.
From away fans but that is expected. I wanted a big team in the cup like utd or chelsea. but I am happy with huddersfield local derby, and a chance to get to the fifth round.
Nothing to do with boxing, but the FA Cup has also thrown up Portsmouth v Plymouth. That'll be a nice one for the pigs in Hampshire to deal with.
I think everyone has more disposable income and they are looking at new ways of spending it. They like to watch a confrontation and what better confrontation can you get when a UK lad is fighting a foreign lad. It is an excuse for these people to get all over patriotic, drink lots of beer and go on holiday (or a weekend away). Boxing is also on a high a present with so many fighters doing so well. People love to be part of something that they think is big and popular. In one way this fight is a bit of a disappointment because I think we will lose 2 world champions soon after it. I think Haye will win so Enzo will obviously not be a champion. Then Haye will probably vacate and move up to HW.
