    The 22 year old Louis who lost to Max Schmelling in 1936 fights the FOTC 1971 Joe Frazier and the 1971 29 year old Ali takes on the Schmelling who beat Joe.

    Interesting premise. Louis beats Frazier in a barn burner that could very well go either way Schmeling exploited Louis's propensity to not return his left hand to the guard position after jabbing. Max's money shot was his right hand .Louis was dropped by left hooks for Galento and B Baer

    Ali was susceptible to the left hook, not the right cross . Ali beats Schmeling by dec.

    Ali for sure IMO. I think Louis has more chance than Schmeling in a bit of a shootout with Frazier. Louis was green and a bit underdone but he still has that offensive arsenal. It's Louis early or Frazier later.

    Ali likely stops Schmeling. Louis, in that frame of mind, would not have lasted against Frazier.
