    How good is this guy?

King Wally said he must play 5/8 for NSW next week :deal

Saints smashed the tigers tonight 34-10 (sorry Jeff)with Soward bagging 18 points with a great solo try beating 5 defenders on a 40m run.

    He must play :deal

It will be a disaster if they pick Soward for origin. And I love me Saints. They targeted him and his corridor tonight, and even though he hides on the wing Lawrence and Lote were still able to isolate him and make him "play".

The Tigers play a little similar to Qld - they shift the ball from side to side and can do it early in the count. If Tuqiri and Lawrence can find Soward in defence and walk through him, the Qld back line will spampede him.

The guy can not tackle. It's as simpla as that. He would leak points aplenty.

...and the NSW team of the past 5 yrs have shown they can tackle?

It is where they have been going wrong for ages, they need pts to beat the Maroons. NSW dont have a 5/8 which is their main problem, no use having jennings, the morris twins, hayne etc out wide if they dont have someone who can get it to them. Soward must be included, he probably defends aswell as Lockyer does.

True to some extent. But Soward would score 12 and leak 20. nah, Locky defends much better than Soward. He really has no idea how to tackle.

The blues have to give him a go, Lockyer at one stage in his career really couldnt tackle for ****. Soward does get hammered in defence though and every team targets him, he is the same as Presto for the Titans. They can be problems for their team.

As the series has already been won by QLD and the pressure is off results wise, this would surely be the best time to see if Soward can handle origin wouldn't it, he might be a bit of a liability in defence but he is NSW best attacking 5/8. Jennings has to be in the team as well.

I agree with this...footy is about getting on the front foot...Soward has the best attacking and defensive kicking game in the comp...yes they may score once or twice down his side so what....his attack yeild 3 times that on OLD.

Qld have been covering for Lockyers defensive lapses for years.... Carrol and Tate were his personal minders.

Doesn't seem to have done Lockyer's career any harm

Yep...also the dragons left side in attack can bacically run the same style of plays for NSW with soward, cooper, Scott and Morris with Creagh slotting in when it fits...just s shame Boyd is not a blue :yep

jennings in for sure maybe even gordon but no soward origin needs good defenders which is why the fittlers johns and daleys were so good as they were excellent at both id have bird in there even though i hate him
