If ever there was a walking institution... Every time you go to the fights in Melbourne, pro or am, the first thing you hear on entering the venue is Howard's voice reverberating. You look back through the old fight videos and one of the first things you notice is the announcer in the gawdy jacket and often bowtie, and yes Howard again! These days, driving home late at night, you turn on the radio and it's bloody Howard again! Your biggest challenge will be getting him off before 8pm DSS.

Just got word from Sky Channel that tonights Canvas Classic - Duke it Out is a great documentary hosted by Cus D'Amato and Muhammad Ali. Mat Brooks said it is great watching.
DSS - Please ensure you ask Howard about the knicknames he's handed out over the years. Many famous Aussie boxers carry handles coined by Howard. This program will be a must upload for the website too DSS.

Wouldnt you better off getting Vic's trainer Angelo Hyder or his manager Elias Nasser to gives a update on Vic's training. I just read on the main forum that they have signed up to a lifetime deal with Gary Shaw, he says that Vic will be bringing talent from Australia,Russia and Armenia. Looks like Team Darchinyan is already foward planning. Great Show, can you ask Howard the best fight he has ever seen. He would have to be one of our greatest ambassdors for Aussie Boxing.
The Howard Leigh Show (oops, I mean the DSS show featuring Howard Leigh) was no disappointment. Some great yarns! Loved the local fight-night story where only the main event fighters turned up and the promoters had no option but to put on silly side-show entertainment and fill the crowd with champagne until the main event was ready to go. Missed parts of the show due to parental duties, and it may have been mentioned, but Howard is also the doyen of local football. Has been writing up the VFA (now known as the VFL) in the sunday papers for an eternity. His naming of Lester as the Master Blaster is one of his better efforts IMO - great handle that one - and Lester made it his own.
