All the same that seems a little too close for mine. Hearns was more dominant imo. I'm thinking 6 or 7 points is more reasonable. Did you score the fight JT?

KO scored ODLH - Quartey 116-113 for Oscar but says nobody could be faulted for scoring it 3 or 4 points either way, it was that sort of fight.

I've never scored this fight, but I remember thinking Gomez would have been a round or 2 up at best at the time of the stoppage.

I think what makes this win so great for Gomez is that he looked like he was going to go down pretty much right till the end of the fight. A 5 point buffer sounds like he had the fight in the bag. Couldn't be further from the truth. He had to dig DEEP to pull that one out.

Didn't score it, but even with the two deducted points Hearns has still won solidly. Interesting, i might rewatch it next week.

Oh, and KO says Pedroza deserved the verdict over Lockridge in their first fight by "the slimmest of margins".

I've actually never seen a scorecard that wide for Oscar before. It's usually been scored one or two points either way. 3 seems a bit excessive. Did they have a round by round for it?

No, wherever there is round by round i'll definitely be putting it up.

KO says of Whitaker - Chavez, it was too one sided to be considered a "great" fight and will be remembered as a "good one". They gave it the yearly Billy Graham-Joey Giardello Highway Robbery award in the prestigious year end issue. There's some food for the big V lol

Farhood names Whitaker-Chavez the worst decision of his career up to 1997.
