As I have said many times Stephen Smith has the potential to be an elite fighter. Even if you felt Simpson won the fight for him to even be competative with a European level fighter in his 10th fight is impressive. Working with a trainer like Joe and reguarly sparring with fighters like Murray, Heffron, Crolla etc will only help him.
very talented boxer, has the potential to go all the way!! i had simpson nicking the first fight but smith had a hand injury early, i expect him to stop simpson this time!
cheers joe,do you feel more pressure on yerself as more kids turn to you for your knowledge and is there a cut off point in your own mind where youd say look mate i'm just too busy with what ive got.and is there a kid out there youd relish the chance of training?
I hope the number of fighters doesn't stretch Joe to thin. Looking to April he could have.. Murray April 2nd Euro defence Macklin April 9th in Vegas Crolla April 16th on the Khan card Smith April 27th vs Simpson maybe he should cut a few of the weak ones lose...like Paul Smith
Quite a good interview there from Smith but i'm hoping Simpson makes a successful defence against him when they meet again and then that can finally elevate John into a European shot which he greatly deserves, another all or nothing fight for Simpson though which i always think makes him box better!
