My point being swimming does very little for your legs in my view. I have swam probably over 500 miles in my life training for various Iron man races, and as my training in the Marine Corps. It never helped my run, or my bike. or my boxing. It only made me a better swimmer. I will say however that running did little for my swimming either. Its a completely different muscle application. Don't take my word for it, stop running completely and just swim for a few weeks. But continue your normal boxing workout. You will soon notice (especially when sparring) that your legs will tire more quickly. I speak to what I have personal experience with.

They're both not sports pecific. I prefer swimming because running ****ed up my knees.

I completely stopped running a while ago, but I can't say I noticed any negative effects.

Im not saying swimming will do anything for ur legs but running wont do anything for ur upperbody. You need muscular endurance for boxing and running wont give u that above the waist.

Not sure. I thought they recovered, but last time I ran a sharp stinging pain returned in my left knee. I also had moist in my knees at some point. I haven't tried it in quite a while, and I don't really feel like it either, unless it's without shoes in loose sand (heavier on the muscles, lighter on the joints).

I know what you mean, I miss it too sometimes, especially when the sun shines. I'll get my bike fixed soon though so I can hit the streets again, be it in a different fashion.

I'm content with my knees not giving me problems in boxing, I don't feel like ****ing with faith by running again.

lucky for you, you dont have to run, my coach is old school he believe running is a must, its hard to convince him otherwise.
