I'm a natural lefty with an orthodox stance so my right straight isnt very powerful at times
My coach told me that i'm not swinging my hips into my right enough
After working on it i can feel alot more power in my right but at times
i can feel stress in my left legs knee area. Is it possible im swinging my legs too far?

im not really getting the situation. If its cause ur straight isnt strong enough then its quite simple. First of all you dont wanna just go throw a straight as a first punch, you wanna open the guys guard up first. Second you move your hip as much as u feel comfortable with it and the power will be there. When you punch tense your muscle and inner core. Swing your hip until your back foot is pointing forward then go back to the regular stance.

Swing your hip around and down rather than simply around. Helps you sit down on the punch better and it's easier on the knee.

Instead of just rotating around, you're rotating and then dropping your weight at the end, all in one motion. Almost like you're going to do a somersault or throw a baseball.

I may be explaining this completely wrong but it works for me (I wasn't taught it like this, I didn't realize that's what I did until I got up and was like wtf does he mean and then went through a couple right hands to see what I did different.)

As the previous poster said sitting down on your right will help with power. if your left knee is hurting you are probably putting to much weight on it. make sure you keep your weight centered when you punch (over your balls) and not over your front foot.
