Because he's awful. His style of fighting is absolutely horrible to watch. Inaccurate, power-less, shoe-shining combinations, not for me.
Darchinyan is a lot more horrible to watch with his crab style :deal. 'Awful' fighters don't win British titles (except at flyweight or something). Sykes may not be world class but he's a good fighter for this level.
I'd have any Crabchinyan over Sykes any day, he's like a poor, white, orthodox, British Devon Alexander. The Crabman's got power and an awful lot of savvy about him(plus I'm a sucker for a southpaw).
Mate, every fighter isn't cut out for the top level. Just cos someone doesn't have the nouse to compete at world level doesn't make them **** or awful.
Love watching Darch fight, i sometimes throw a few punches like him cos i'm fascinated how he throws his punches like that.
Sykes finally going to the body. Knew he could go there often if he committed himself there. Tough round to score. 4-1 Bucko.
Pab do you honestly not enjoy watching fighters just because they are not world class, because thats the impression im getting?
Buckland 5-1, terrible commentary by that new guy who has been awful for the last 3 or 4 weeks Sky Boxing has been back on. Buckland landed the better shots in that round.
:huh I know. I'm talking style-wise. I don't particularly rate Buckland, but I still love watching the guy fight. I can't stand watching Sykes because of his style, I haven't got anything against him, I just hate the way he goes about his work, which is essentially just out-working the other guy with aimless flurries. There's no poise, composure, nothing that the way he fights suggests he should have, just flurry upon flurry. EDIT: This can also be directed at SPK, I watch fighters who aren't very good from all over the world at ungodly hours, believe me, that's not the case. :thumbsup I wish he'd learn to throw a right hand, but he almost doesn't have to because his left is so unpredictable, as Diamante found out.:|
