Because it's not just a case of bad judging or bad refereeing. It's corrupt judging and corrupt refereeing.
This was down as a loss on Sprott's record the moment the contract was signed...and that's nothing to do with a gulf in quality between he and Dimitrenko.
cheers, how about the sprott fight? Should he have won or should it just have been a lot closer on the cards.
Ugh. Total mess. The Italian ref missed at least one clear knockdown call (and arguably two others) on Dimitrenko. He also issued indefensible point deductions against Sprott, one for a "hit after the bell" at the end of the 10th (it wasn't) and one for shoving Dimitrenko down to the canvas (which he did a couple of times, but was never warned for prior to the deduction - and the one he took a point for could have possibly even been ruled a knockdown). So mind you that's a three, maybe even five point swing in Dimitrenko's favor. I came up with 113-113, a draw. Dimitrenko swept the early rounds, then Sprott came on in the middle. It was 95-95 for me heading into the championship rounds - and Sprott won them both but had a point deducted in each (making them both 9-9 and the final score even).
sounds so ****, boxing is a joke at times and as someone stated previously in this thread, someone should be able to watch it after and sort out any obvious screw ups/fixing. Cheers for filling me in IB. Oh just noticed the video, even better, thanks. That looked like a really good round for sprott. I didn't see the ref signal for a point deduction at the end though. Maybe it was a after thought from him. Was that a legit low blow? looked on the belt line to me.
For some odd reason he waited until just before the start of the eleventh to announce the point was being taken.
So sketchy, You can pretty much tell he's not thought about it after its been thrown. Makes you wonder if he had a after thought, or someones had a whisper in his ear.
