Big Tim is a nice bloke, they may have a gentlemans agreement not to take it to the floor.

Weak ... but my guess is that big Tim is gonna try and test his boxing skills with Mercer. He's not a fighter that goes to the ground anyway.

In boxing I think Mercer would still win, in mma his chance decrease quite a bit ... despite the fact Tim will TRY to box with him. His ego will at least.

    Btw when exactly is this?

Imagine if Mercer pulls this off this will create about 735785387583 threads about boxing is better then MMA because a 50 year old boxer beat the former UFC Heavyweight Champ.

I don't think this is possible to see Mercer win. TIm Sylvia is not stupid, he even want to be back in the UFC. He know he cant afford to lose to granpan Mercer

How more impressive will Kimbo's win be if Mercer beats Sylvia? I haven't paid much attention as of late, but can't Sylvia still be argued as current top 10?

Mercer should be too old to compete with Tim, but this would have been interesting few years ago. Kimbo Slice doesn't have 1/4 of Tim Sylvia's mma credentials. However; Slice was more aggressive, more athletic, and more likely to run over and put Mercer away in the fashion that he did. Easily said with hindsight, but I believe I have a point. Mercer was competent in K-1, and Sylvia is no kickboxing legend. Without the aggression to turn the fight into anything but a boxing match, Mercer has a chance.

    Read the link. :patsch

    The promoters ****ed up.

“Canadian boxing commissions are not authorized to supervise boxing matches in the U.S.; and, patently, it is wholly inappropriate for one representative from a Canadian boxing commission, together with an MMA referee, to supervise a boxing match,”
said Bruce C. Spizler, chairman of the ABC legal committee in the release.

So the numbnuts organizing the event ****ed big time.

Idiots. Just stage it in a cage sanction it under MMA and make sure they where boxing gloves.

Mercer doesn't know how to adapt boxing to MMA so even at boxing he is extremely limited. He needs to change his range because of kicks, he has to be able to sprawl, he has to limit his body punching etc

I'm willing to bet the they were ****ed over, actually. This sounds like dirty athletic commission stuff to me. Of course, you guys will always blame the guy with less power.
