And Sylvia go dropped by Alrovskis right hand, what do you think Wlads would do to him. Consider this, Wlad has better footwork, quicker hands, a better jab and is much more adapt to keeping distance for him to land his shots. We know Sylvia has a suspect chin because Andrei dropped him, even if Wlads chin was made of egg shell.....how is Sylvia going to hit him without being hit first? :think
Wlad beats Sylvia brutally 100/100 in a boxing match, Sylvia beats Wlad 95/100 in an MMA match. Does anyone think that Wlad can learn in a year what Sylvia has been learning for ten? Just being a great athlete doesnt mean you can pick up take-down defense and ground fighting quickly. Ask Johnny Morton, Pete Spratt etc. What would Sylvia be doing for that year anyway other than improving his takedowns? Come on folks, its a different game. Im not sure how much to make of Wlads kickboxing experience, but if it was the sort that didnt allow leg kicks then hed have hell to deal with from those as well.
I am not saying Wlad is not a great boxer and deserved number 1 heavey weight and I am not saying he has not got huge power and a terrific dangerous jab but the fact still remains that when he gets tagged he implodes. You can make the argument that any top rated boxing world belt holder would do a serious number on an MMA champ guy before anything but boxing skills came into contention but in reality the fight would take a different course. Wlad's chin looks shaky in boxing, it would be awful in the world of lucky punches mma.
Wlad's far and away the best heavyweight boxer on the planet so I suspect Sylvia, who has limited ground skills, would be despatched viciously.
"Limited" agianst guys like Couture and Mir maybe, but he's worlds ahead of Wlad. How long would Wlad last on the ground with Couture? How long did Sylvia last? Like I said, in boxing Wlad wins 100/100 by brutal KO and in MMA Sylvia wins at least 95/100 by sub.
