Systematically updating the ring ranking database on boxrec

It's half term holidays for us teachers so I decided to see if I could update this database on boxrec, I'm sure you all know which one.

It isn't complicated and only involves very minor programming and obviously the required magazine issues.

I'm currently doing the HW division now so 91 and 97 should be up. Hopefully 09, 10 and 11 will be done withing the hour depending how long it takes.

I'll put the other's on division by division hopefully by the end of the week.

I can't tell if the changes are just showing to me or if they're actually public yet though.

 

also, if anyone else has any free time, knows how to edit webpages and would like to help share the workload, let us know and i'll send you the 91/97 rankings for any division you choose.

 

HW are completely up to date now.

The links at the bottom of the page work (taking you from the 00's to the 10's) but for some reason I can't seem to get Boystov's profile to link to his entry, if anyone out there knows how to do that let me know :good

Plus I've added a little inside joke which should be obvious if you visit this decades page :good

Evyrthing on the HW page should be working perfectly now.

I already have the rankings myself but I figured plenty others don't and this kind of thing interests them.

Yeah it's a bit more complicated than just editing the text because it's done through simple programming code. The code isn't at all difficult if you've had any experience with it before.

Most of it can be copy and pasted with just the content replaced by the correct rankings.

The links update automatically providing the names are spelt the same.

The links at the bottom of the page have to be changed manually but that just involves matching the correct labels.



I dunno, I studied computing at A-Level and that was a fe wyear ago but I could quickly pick up what I neede to do here.

Go to one of the pages, click "edit" at the top and see if you can understand the code that comes up, if you can then I'll send ya some rankings, if it looks ocnfusing then no worries :good
