It was terrible football to watch. Holman is utter ****, and I'm convinced he's only being selected because he's playing in Holland. Bring in Carle, he's much better. Cahill didn't work as a sole striker, but I'm not sure Kennedy is a startin player. He is always dangerous with his height, but he's pretty crap with his feet. We need Viduka back playing, someone who can hold the ball up enough for the others to get into position. However. Pim is waaaaaay too defensive, and IMO, we're better off playing with 2 strikers. Kennedy and MacDonald for now, and when he's fit and ready start with Viduka and MacDonald. Kennedy is a great impact player who would be great coming on when we're chasing. Having Him, Viduka, Cahill, and even Kewell (he's been scoring many goals with headers this season) as an aeriel threat is something to look forward to. It just beats me how crap like Holman can play, yet someone like MacDonald who's in red hot form and who has scored against the worlds best teams (AC Milan, Man U, etc) can not even get a run. We'll breeze through Asia, but these tactics will do us no good once we get to the WC. We'll be as defensive and boring as Greece were in last years Euro, and we'll achieve similar results to what the Olyroos achieved in Beijing.
personally i think pim verbeek is a **** coach, hes done nothing with this team to improve it, we dont look dangerous at all, and structure there was none just as soon as we get it boot it... i dont want too much soccer but ive seen mcdonald play and hes a fukn good player and agreed his in red hot form, they were going on about who we miss and so on saying emerton but no one more then harry kewell the guy is brilliant when hes on the field and we really miss that skill / speed factor mixed in together on a player...
