What if Tommy had a serious leg massage before the fight?

You can troll with some legendary nights quips or you can be realistic. Only 1 man seriously hurt Tommy at 147 or 154 and that was prime Ray Leonard. SRL punched a hell of a lot harder than Floyd at WW.

This is the point Floyd fan's don't seem to understand, when you start fighting the top echelons at Welterweight, you best bring some power. Floyd has shown very average power at w.w.

You would have more chance of hurting Tommy than Mayweather. This is a guy who had to cheap shot Ortiz to stop him, and other than that has only stopped the Light Welter Hatton in almost 10 years.

It was enough power to have made Shane Mosley stop fighting within minutes of landing two of the best punches ever to have gotten past Floyd's guard.

I can believe that, he sure as hell dosen't look 6-2 which he has been listed at..

Tyson was listed at 6-0 when he fought in the late 80's he ain't nowhere near that:-(

Leonard was probably only 5-9, and Hagler 5-8..

I think some of these guy's stand on their tip toes, or get measured in shoes when being measured, because they ARE ALWAYS listed taller than their REAL HEIGHT...

I think this is a bad match up for Floyd where's his advantages I just can't find any?
Great defence fair enough but he's got nothing to hurt Hearns with I just see a fairly comfortable UD for Hearns against an ultra cautious Floyd

I've only ever seen Tommy listed at 6' 1". Fighters stand tall and erect to be measured i:e ( shoulders back, chin up ). For obvious reasons they don't do the same in the ring. Well not intentionally anyway.:rofl

I just watched parts of Hearns-Benitez and Mayweather-De La Hoya, and it’s pretty clear to me that Benitez has the superior head/upperbody movement and radar. He also looks more elusive against the jab (which is of particular relevance in this matchup, since the jab is going to be Hearns' main scoring tool). Mayweather's defensive techniques on the other hand are more useful for creating opportunities to counter, but this should be nullified by Hearn's reach advantage.

In short I don't see Mayweather getting anything done against Hearns with his negative/minimalist style. Hearns won't be landing much either, but the truth is you don't neccesarily need to land many punches on Mayweather to win rounds on him.

Why would they need to be? Anyone who is being measured, even in a doctors surgery, stands erect to get the true measurement. Much more likely is the sport is full of conspiracy theorists who want to believe all fighters lie about how tall they are.

Hearns with his reach and power might be too much for Floyd. Hearns can fight inside and out.

This doesn't exactly square with NN comments that Benitez was a B- version of Mayweather and that it's on you tube to see, now does it? :patsch
