Maybe the fantasy is in your head and Lewis' head, that he retired on a gift win and walked away from a very necessary rematch.

This thread is just taking pot shots at Klitschko fans and Ukrainians.

Gift win. Yeah, Vitali having a tissue paper face is a gift.

Yes..we're the delusional ones... Lennox, me, the millions who have seen it over the years or attended in person...

Necessary rematch? Prime VK took a few rounds against a grizzled lion with plenty of paunch in the haunch and grey in the mane, and still couldn't beat him. Certain African tribes would consider Vitali still a boy even now in his forties, having failed that rite of passage into manhood and getting mauled on the spear hunt.

Even if they rematched and VK did beat him, is that worth bragging about? Going 1-1 with a fat old half-retired former great, in your absolute peak & prime?

It was necessary only for VK, to try and salvage some dignity and save face. It wasn't necessary for LL, obviously. It wasn't necessary for boxing, either. The boxing world knows who the greater heavyweight champion is. The one who while old and fat and rich enough to lack hunger anymore beat the other one in their peak & prime. :deal (yeah, down on cards, but so? Are all come from behind stoppages now event wins for the loser who got stopped?)

    :huh

I love Smokin' Joe, but a discussion thread entitled "Ali UD12 Frazier" about their first rematch wouldn't be regarded as taking "pot shots at Frazier fans and Philadelphians". Why are Klitschko fans the only ones wounded by reality? Grievously wounded, like a torn up face...

It's boxing. **** happens. Just like Rahman had a volleyball on his head, just like Golota had a baseball on his eye. The "TKO" was in the hands of the ref. Who's to say a different ref would have stopped it. Vitali would have fought on, no doubt about it.

This thread is a slap in the face to K2, their fans and Ukrainians.

    :patsch

I like when Klit tards automatically jump on you when you criticize them. I like Wlad, dislike Vitali (more so because he is a poor sport), and I hate the Klit fans. The fans say the most RIDICULOUS **** about how good they are.

    Actually half of them did.

    Which is the case here.

Wladimir Klitschko fans, or at least those who say he's been the clear #1 active heavyweight since his brother's first retirement and a much improved h2h fighter under Steward (but still acknowledge that he'd get chinned by several ATG heavy champs, improvements and all) - they're OK.

It's Big Brother who's got the truly obnoxious evil army at his back.

"The loss to Lewis wasn't a loss at all.." :?

"Anyone would have quit at that point against Byrd (including the many people who've fought on with worse injuries)..."
    :?

"RTD8 Sam Peter = GOAT comeback bout..."
    :?

"Having an awkward hands-down style held over from a kickboxing career along with steady balance while in transit, a solid chin and heavy hands makes you the greatest head to head nightmare ever known (and far better than the more fundamentally sound, quicker, more powerful and smarter/more economical technician who slipped out of your mother's uterus after you'd paved the way)..."
    :?

"Highest percentage of bouts stopped in heavyweight boxing champion history = more 1-punch KO power than Earnie Shavers..."
    :?

Wow, great post. :good. Got used to you doing the 'rbr' and just describing live boxing action, didn't expect this magnificent insight into the Lewis-Vitali debate.
