Lewis was the king of rematches...... but I wonder why he never give a rematch to the 2 blokes who gave him his toughest fights and who actually deserved them. He avoided Ray Mercer like he plague and retired from Vittles.
Not sure if ******ed. 37 years old, unmotivated, fat, undertrained Lewis kicked Vitali's ass in 6 rounds A trained, motivated Lewis would do it in 3
:rofl So what if Lewis was 38, remember he was like a fine wine who according to his fanboys had just come off his career best win in destroying Tyson. Also the reason why Lewis came in 6 lbs heavier was because he originally was fighting the ATG Kirk Johnson, and as Vitali came in as a late sub hence Lewis weight. If Lewis had fought Johnson he would have pursued another fight with Tyson and he had no intention of retiring. Anyhow answer me this, why did Lewis avoid Mercer when he got the gift in a very close fight which a lot of people thought he lost? This semi retired, 5 stone over weight, shot to **** theories regarding Lewis are just fanboys trying to cover up the fact he was in a very good fight in which for the first time in ages he was fighting a young guy who could fight on the same level as him. These theories rank along side the 'lucky' punch.....
Vitali going to win? What are you talking about. His face was a bloddy mass. And Lewis becomes stronger and stronger. Vitali had the best rounds 1 and 2. Maybe round 4 too. On my cards it was a draw. Vitali landed his best shot in the second round but could not knock Lewis out. Lewis sometimes need a little bit time to find his way. Vitali´s style is awkward so Lewis needs some rounds to become much more comfortable. But how the fight goes, it shows Lewis found the keye. But 6 rounds where boxed!! Not 10 or 11. Vitali had to go 6 more rounds with one eye against Lewis! Lewis would have ko´ed Vitali in the 7the. The doctor save Vitali´s health.
So he definitely wasn't already in training with a fight on the undercard? If that's the case Lennox also only had 10 days to prepare. Fact of the matter is both were training for other fighters, and both had ten days to adjust to fighting each other. **** off making it look like Vitali had a 10 day training camp for the fight, its just bollocks.
:good Vitali was in training, he was set to have a fight on the undercard. So Vitali had a "normal" training camp. IMO Universum payed Kirk Johnson to say he was injured and forced Lewis to fight against Vitali. They believe Vitali will win against an unprepared and unmotivated Lewis. But Lewis won TKO 6.
10 days. The time Chris Byrd had to prepare for Vittles, travel to Germany and make him quit. 10 days. :good
Vitali Klitschko vs Lennox Lewis THE TRUTH Vitali took the fight on just 10 days notice. Vitali was clearly winning the fight 4-2 on all 3 scorecards at the time of the controversial bull**** doctor stoppage. Lewis barely survived the 2nd round and almost got KO'd, he was out on his feet, badly hurt, holding on for dear life, wobbling everywhere and staggering around the ring like a drunk. Lewis was badly hurt several times in the fight, he was battered from pillar to post, outslugged, outgunned, outmuscled, outskilled, outboxed, outlanded in every round, dominated and outclassed by Vitali. Punches Landed Vitali 156 Lewis 102 Lewis was exhausted, worn down and hurt from the accumulation of punches and was ready to get KTFO again, he collapsed onto his stool at the end of the 6th round, Vitali was clearly the fresher of the two, he would've KO'd Lewis for sure if the fight had continued. Vitali got robbed. The corrupt doctor and ref were on Lennox's payroll. It should've been a TD6 win for Vitali. Official Scorecards Pat Russell: Vitali 58-56 James Jen-Kin: Vitali 58-56 Tom Kaczmarek: Vitali 58-56 Sky Sports: Vitali 58-56 HBO: Vitali 58-56 Lennox's mom: Vitali 58-56 After the fight, Vitali intimidated the **** out of Lewis and made him look like a *****. The whole crowd cheered for Vitali and booed Lewis out of the arena. Lewis promised Vitali a rematch. Vitali destroyed Kirk Johnson in 2 rounds and called out Lewis again in the post fight interview. The gutless coward Lewis retired shortly after that fight. Lewis turned down 40 million dollars for a rematch and retired like a coward because he knew he would get destroyed by Vitali. Even Emanuel Steward was upset and pissed off at Lewis for blatantly ducking a Vitali rematch. Lewis is scared to death of Vitali. Vitali dominated Lewis and scared him into retirement.
George Foreman: "Lewis got lucky. Vitali was winning the fight. There has to be a rematch!" Jim Lampley: "A lucky escape for Lewis who was clearly losing the fight" Larry Merchant: "Lennox, why do you think the fans were cheering Vitali and booing you in the end? Because maybe they were surprised that Vitali fought better than you?"
Vitali wasn't even in his prime yet. Lewis was 37 and was still in his prime when he got his ass whooped by Vitali. He was coming off the win over Tyson. In the Lewis-Tyson post fight interview Lewis said "I'm like fine wine, I get better with age" Before the Vitali fight, Lewis said "I'm at the peak of my powers, I will keep fighting for many more years" Lewis was battered from pillar to post, badly hurt several times, outboxed, outskilled, outgunned, outmuscled, outslugged, outlanded in every round, outpointed, outclassed, dominated, emasculated and retired by Vitali.
