He didn't need 4 years. He retired and became fully healthy. He was then heavily involved in politics to end corruption in Ukraine and then returned back in the ring.

Maybe he meant to say his outside game is better.
Lewis was multi dimensional, if he got outboxed he would come in your face.

Even with Vitali being stronger on the outside doesn't make up for being a weaker hitter/paper chin/ worse inside game.

 

good point! it was possible to outjab and outbox lewis but his strength was to switch styles if one style didn't work

 

Lewis is a much better boxer than Vitali. Better boxing skills and more punching power.
