dude the fight got stopped on a cut off a grazing punch... There nothing definitive about the end of that fight. I'm sorry im the farthest thing from a vitali fan but Lewis didnt really beat him. Lewis fans just seem really bitter about this fight for no reason. Lewis was way past it at that point and it doesnt really mean anything in retrospect anyway.
Sorry my friend but you're wrong. Lewis connected with a solid right to open the cut up and kept on hitting it. There were three other cuts as well. And yes Lewis really beat him. Like it or not durability is a part of boxing. Did Billy Backus really not beat Jose Napoles? Fights are set for a distance or until one fighter is deemed unable to continue. By your logic we could say Oliver McCall really didn't beat Lewis because Lennox was up and wanted to continue. The fact is though Lennox lost, just like Vits lost.
Ok your comparing a stoppage on a cut to an actual TKO ? Just ask yourself was Lewis the better man that night? not to my eyes. That fight called for a rematch. why it didnt happen you can argue about, either way it was not lewis best night .
A stoppage by cut is a tko. By your logic there should be no difference since both wanted to continue. I do agree it wasn't Lewis' best night, and kudos to Vits for taking the fight to him. But the end is all that matters. Its not like some shady decision on the scorecards.
How many fights have you seen where someone is winning on points and then gets KO'd? No one ever says that they didnt deserve it
Exactly. Had it been a head butt that opened the major cut and Lewis was given the victory I'd be singing a different tune. But Lewis put the work in legally to force that stoppage and it's 100% legit.
I'm out. Those who give respect deserve it back. Wasn't trying to mess you up and hope the mods understand this is not a TKO6 thread.
I understand man, it's just when other posters respond it gives a reason to the MODs to put it in the TKO6 Thread.
Crafty, veteran performance by Lewis. Knew he had to weather the early storm of a young hungry fighter and he did. Then he took him to deep waters.
