Wrong. YDKSAB. The fight goes to scorecard in case of accidental/intentional injury

    From WBC Rules:

Accidental Injuries from Head Butts, Elbows, or other Accidental or Illegal
    Actions (injury).
    This content is protected
    l.
    a) Unintentional/accidental injury. When a boxer suffers a cut,
abrasion, or excessive swelling due to an unintentional/accidental
    head butt, elbow, etc.
    This content is protected

    - If there is an injury caused by a legal punch and the bout can
continue, and is later stopped after the start of the fifth round due
to an accidental injury, it will be a technical decision as per the
    scorecards.
    - All rounds will be scored even if it is partial round

    Very underrated heavyweight fight.

That and Liakhovich-Brewster are my two favorite heavyweight fights post 2000.

He wasn't "pushing 40", he was 37 during the Vitali fight, same age as Wladimir is now.

He was past his best though, he had been a boss player since the mid-early 90s.

LOL at that Vladimir23 guy. Every time Lewis or Vitali are mentioned, he posts the same bull**** "facts" about the fight and Vitali's accomplishments. That's all he really does. Talk about a one-trick pony.

Great slugfest that has created a decade of internet name calling and folklore

I think it shows just how great both fighters were/are and how great a fight they can make vs a great fighter

Lewis and Vitali have been called boring by some but just watch what they can do when operating vs a hall of fame great fighter

Those uppercuts KO'd a lot of men and Vitali didnt even buckle probably didnt see them coming either from the cut so it just proves he could take a shot

shame the fight was on short notice and the cut because these 2 with complete training camps and no cut would have put on a hell of a fight

Despite the controversial result this fight is one of the best HW fights ever. People forget how great the fight was because of the tko

apparently you don't get what you self posted. the text refers to accidental injuries and illegal things in the ring. lewis punches were legal and the injury was NOT accidental.
    so, what's your point?

Lets have it right. He was 7 weeks short of 38 bro and at the very end of a career he was mostly matched hard in. Something we can't say about Wlad.

Not to mention he was basically semi-retired.

Good vid of a terrific fight op. respect!
