why would he take flack for not facing Vitali, he never took flack for other fighters he stopped by tko. Lennox was 38, pretty much every HW champ in history had retired from title fights at that age, so he did what was the norm and not some hidden agenda that you want to invent.

stupid comment - I hope you aren't trying to make an exception for vitali simply because hes white.

its his defeat, not his skin colour, which is relevant here.

Do you write fairy stories for children too??? :patsch I have never seen such a load of bull**** in my life. What else was Lennox supposed to do?
That uppercut Lennox nearly decapitated Vitali with didn't hurt did it tough guy ? ROFL Vit didn't know if he was in Vegas or Vladivostok
after that one he clung like a limpet .
Face it Farm a barely 80% ready Lennox nearly took Vitali's face off just imagine what a 100% Lennox would do.
    Bottom line is .......

I think enough time has passed I'm not giving away any real secrets so here goes...

Only one thing would have kept Lennox from retiring That was a match that was being negociated from the day Chris Byrd got separated from his senses .
Lennox Lewis - Ike Ibeabuchi for all the marbles. That's what Lennox hung on for.
He'd demolished Vitali Wlad had taken to the hills didn't want to know. Ike was the man!!!!
Of course we all know what happened to Ike . That was another travesty
Knowing & being friends with both Lennox & Ike it would have been a very hard fight for me to watch. but without a doubt it would have been the fight of the era. Its a shame it never came to pass

Wealthy, old and unmotivated. The vitali fight made him realise a loss was on the cards with a hard full camp beforehand and that Father Time was looking over his shoulder. Thus he decided to retire and yes Vitali did lose that fight. I don't see people claiming Taylor beat Froch because he was ahead on the cards when he got stopped. You get stopped you lose simple and that was a legit cut and a legit stoppage. End of discussion.

Lewis got sick and tired of retiring too many sluts by way of TKO6.

he also got very bored with having to say "deal with it"

Lewis was all Gangstar. he did it just to get a rep.

It really is tough comparing ten years of hilarious delusion from Klittards with watching a nuclear bomb being dropped on the most racist, obnoxious, and least knowledgeable fan base in sports history. Both were quite enjoyable. Death of the *******s still wins for me though, because those ******s really believed Manny was GOAT and an invincible superhero.

    We'll said.

I would suggest, however, that the afflicted seem to suffer butthurt of similar depth and breadth.

I was just thinking that actually, both sides use the 'he was winning' argument. At least the Klittards are technically accurate with their statement. The Pac gobblers assert this with complete disregard that a KD would've be scored if Pac had gotten up.

in a asense Wlad was the smarter brother, he knew he should avoid someone like Lewis because the loss would tarnish everything he planned to do in the future.

Vitali, no matter what he did after tko6, was Lewis' *****.

its a remarkable thing that the K2 bros losses are easily their most exciting fights.

Seeing a guy with massive weight, age and refereeing advantages get smashed up is something, its very David and Goliath for example to see a natural MW or a journeyman fat near 38 year old regional level cherrypicked retiree smash up what is supposed to be the HW champion of the world so bad that they run away and hide. Its not a sight you see often in history.

What am I saying, its never happened in history! The K2s did make history!

But Pacman, what can I say - the man is clearly on a premature fade.

It'd have been interesting if Solis had been 3-2 up against vitali and then got stopped in the 6th if fans would still be talking about the loss claiming it as a win years on. Very strange.

if you watch the tko6 fight again, you can see Lewis thinking about whether he should end vitalis career there or pull his punches and let him fight another day. He really felt sorry for this big eastern guy who couldn't defend himself.

Lucky that Lewis was in a charitable mood, letting vitali survive without lifelong injury so that vits could fight on to become a champion one day instead of killing this floundering giant in a rematch.
