I actually dealt with everything in my last thread, its why the vast majority agreed with me. So tell me, is this an ATG resume?

Wlad is an ATG. Vitali is not.

No but I only have around 25-30 boxer's in history I class as ATG's.

The term is used too loosely in my opinion.

If that's the competition available you have to admit we can't ask for a better resume. You then proceed to evaluate the qualities of the fighter.

Calling Vitali a top 10 ATG is like calling Martinez a top 10 middleweight or DM a top 10 LHW or Manny a top 10 welterweight.
None of them are top 10 anything yet 2 of them have greater acheivements than Vitali.

Vitali was the best HW of his generation. Nothing more. His fans can't accept that and insist he his a great when he never achieved anything close to greatness in his life.

    Why?
Vitali showed true fighting spirt in the ring and never relied on fouling to get himself through a fight.
He had to take care of business for Wlad throughout his whole career becuase Wlad just wasn't good enough. (Purrity, Sanders, Chisora)

Vitali was the real fighter. Not Wlad. Thats what will be remembered.

I disagree. Wlad had to step up and handle Byrd, he also fought at least 9 fighters opn the list I provided showing all the fighters Vits DIDN'T fight while being active. Wlad is far superior in skills and resume in my opinion.

Shocking! The one guy who voted vits resume on par with the greats refuses to defend why he voted that way. :yep

Wlad has to be protected by corrupted refs and allowed to commit constant fouls to win while cherry picking the worst in the division including his own sparring partners.

Peter was beaten by both. He gave Wlad fits and nearly had him out. Wlad had to hold on for dear life to survive. Vitali gave Peter a boxing lesson without needing to hold on to him once.
He proved he can go toe to toe and survive a battle of attrition against Sanders and come out on top.
When evaluating a fighter those factors are more meaningful than a career of terrible foul ridden fights that did nothing but throw mud on the sport.

Good enough to make the bottom end of the top 20 ATG lists I reckon. Depending on what his victims do in the meantime could change it either way though. I still get the feeling he might yet go for Foreman's oldest champ record in a few years.
