    He decked Lionel Rose only to come up short in the decision...Rose deserved it, but it was a valiant attempt by Sakarai.

    Very sad. He was a great amateur - gold medallist in Tokyo iirc - and put up a terrific effort against Rose before Olivares came along and did his usual thing. Another world class talent who had the misfortune to come along when the bantams were ruled by giants. RIP.
