Like many of you, I was disappointed with last wknd's PPV. Moreso because I'd hyped it up to all my friends and threw a fight party, which was still fun but the fight was a downer. After the thrid round Shane went spoiler and the whole thing became a sham. What are some baiting tactics Pac could use to prevent future opponents fron goin all survivor on us? What strategy could he have used to get Shane to engage? Post here for suggestions......then maybe Team Pac will have some clue on what to do next time around.

From a tactical standpoint, I thought Pac after rackin up such a big lead shouldve just stood in the middle of the ring and not chase. Taunt Shane to come to him, talk **** and challenge his manhood. Anyone else have any ideas??

If I saw it correctly there was one point where pac was following mosley around the ring, then he stopped took a step back and pointed to shane like come on, yet mosley didnt do anything so he went after him again.
It doesnt matter normaly because when a guy fights like that you can cruise to a win. Problem is manny wants to entertain people and the boo's might get to him. he should showboat and taunt mosley. make him look terrible, **** the constant tapping gloves punch him in the face like floyd did. Its not in pacs nature though to do these things.

Ask Roach to teach him how to cut the ring.
It's so obvious that they never felt the need for this due to the recent style of their opponents.

So what can Roach do to get Pac less diplomatic in the ring? I think Pac needs to hang out with James Toney during training camp and get some of that the innercity swag and learn the fine art of trashtalk DURING fights.

The premise of this thread is what tactics Pac could use (under the circumstances that he's won every round) so he wouldnt have to press the action nor be in a position to even "cut off the ring". I mean Pac didnt even need to cut the ring off did he? How do u get a spooked opponent to fight back? Thats the question.....

Okay, so what would u suggest? What would u tell pac? What baiting tactics could Pac have used short of getting midround blowjobs from Bella to assure Shane would fight back?

Its difficult to do anything against someone running. Its spoiling. They won't win but the opponent won't look good either. Cutting off the ring could help as mentioned but even then when someone is practically running the entire time, its still very difficult to cut off the ring. You can cut the ring off if they're boxing on the outside but borderline running is another story.

Erm thats how you get a 'spooked fighter' in place where you can get him, you gotta cut the ring off.

Patience. Pacquiao was frustrated and spent too much time on head combos that were mostly being evaded by gloves or head movement. If Pacquiao worked on just single shots and a few 1-2's every now and went to the body more then I think he would have looked better than he did last weekend. Shane ran but not as much as people make it seem. He moved around Pacquiao and it bothered Pacquiao leg cramps or not. He should've gave himself more rest time before the fight. Pac should've took a page from Duran and fought like an intimidator as he already had Shane beat mentally. He looks like Duran anyways lol.

Some of these dudes saying cut off the ring have no clue. It's pretty hard to cut off the ring when the other has it in mind to get away at all cost. Especially a veteran and a crafty guy like mosley. Pac did cut off the ring at times but like I said that's almost an impossible duty if the other guy just runs and doesn't even think of throwing a punch.

he was negative yes, and he did run occasionally but pac just followed him pretty much straight up, no feints, no lateral movement on the chase and he should tried to get inside. But to be fair thats not pac's style

You can cut off the ring all you want but if the other guy isnt throwing punches back its fruitless. Shane threw 300 punches in 12 rounds and most of those were "stay away from me" jabs. My point is what could Pac have done to have Shane regain a lil confidence. What? Give him a free shot? Pretend Shane hurt him? I dunno man, Pac won every round in that fight and I know from that standpoint he's happy.....but I also know he wants to give fans an entertaining fight. For most other fighters thats enough, but check out Pacs reaction after the fight... he looks piss3ed. It seems to me, its not about the actual style that frustrates him, there's a world of difference between fighting off your back foot from straight up running. I think he's just not used to opponents who wont fight him back. Thats where his real frustration lies...not so much from the other guy being slick. And it seems to he needs to learn how to better bait opponents who have resorted to "spoiling" .
