Michael demolishes Mike Jerry demolishes Leon. Now Jerry vs Michael (if Michael can come in at say 200-205) would be interesting.
I remember The Soul Brothers vs The Quarry Brothers on June 27 1972, Bob Foster and Muhammad Ali took it, the previous night Roberto Duran stopped Ken Buchanan to win the WBA Title.
Michael Spinks destroys Mike Quarry early. Jerry Quarry lights up Leon Spinks and stops him late, Quarry was great when opponents would come at him and he was able to time and counter them, Leon Spinks would give him plenty of opportunities and Quarry would go for the finish when he had someone hurt. Leon Spinks beats Mike Quarry, probably late stoppage or something. Michael Spinks jinxes Jerry Quarry late, he boxes from the outside early on, busting Quarry up with the jab, feinting and using his awkwardness to make his jab unpredictable, and attacks in general. Quarry was bad against boxers at the best of times, he didn’t know how to lead, close the distance or close the ring off, he’d just lunge square on and get sloppy, which would make him predictable, and especially against someone as awkward as Spinks, there’s no case to be made for Quarry here, he gets picked apart and late on Spinks lowers the boom, hurts him with the right hand set up by the jab and goes for the finish, Spinks would also go for the finish when he had guys hurt, and he was also, contrary to popular belief, a devastating puncher at Heavyweight, the punch he dropped Tangstad with was a glancing blow and he was all over the place.
I agree with the split decision deal, Michael Spinks takes Mike Quarry, Jerry Quarry beats the caca out of Leon Spinks.
