-Barrera starting fast and looks bigger than Taguchi, Taguchi conservative here but lands some good body shots, nice burst from Taguchi! Barrera using the lead hand well, another burst from Taguchi, Barrera hurt from a body shot and Taguchi goes for him! Barrera started that well but Taguchi ripped the round away in the final minute
- Barrera on the front foot to start again, Tahuchi holding his feet more here, Barrera getting smarter with his offense, Taguchi really loving body shots today, Barrera takes a big body shot on the ropes, and another. A better round for the challenger, but 2-0 Taguchi
-Better start by Taguchi, nice body ahots and a solid one up top, Barrera forces Taguchi back momentarily, Barrera trying to instil his will on the champion, good stuff from the challenger until Taguchi turns it on backs up Barrera, Taguchi letting the challenger have it now and Barrera's good work has been over shadowed again. Barrera down-slip. Again Barrera had moments but Taguchi turned it up and looked a class above
-Taguchi on the hunt, looking to finish this now, Barrera sees off the first wave of the storm but Taguchi back on top of him, Barrera moving from one set of ropes to another, and being battered on all of them. Barrera totally out of his depth here and Taguchi looking to shine, Barrera hurt and again trying to survive on the ropes. Totally dominant round. Arguably a 10-8
-Taguchi starting a bit slower here, Barrera looks weary, Taguchi applies pressure, sick body shots from Taguchi, Barrera can't stay off the ropes and Taguchi just unloads when he's there. Barrera has some success with both men in center ring, but it's not enough from the challenger.
-Taguchi on the front foot again and once more Barrera is forced to eat heavy leather. Barrera has moments but is rocked up top, Taguchi back to the body late and Barrera holds....close round Taguchi nabbed at the end
-Barrera looks to still be feeling the body shots and he's walking around. Taguchi gets him on the ropes and goes to work again, Barrera looking a beaten man here, Barrera back tracking...into the ropes, Taguchi all over him, a rare moment of offense by the challenger, big head shots by Taguchi, Taguchi down- slip, Barrera now comes forward, Taguchi feeling the pace a little now. Again very one sided round, despite some late success by Barrera
-Taguchi starting slower and looking a little more laboured, but landing solid shots early, Barrera now looking to land bombs, this is much better from Barrera, Taguchi hurts Barrera, and again unloads with Barrera on the ropes, and again, Barrera holding on for dear life and given a clear warning. Again Barrera started well, Taguchi ripped it away though. Gotta wonder how much more Barrera can take
-Taguchi starts the round the way he ended the last, Barrera taking a pounding, nothing coming back and it's stopped! TKO9 Taguchi!
