He was contacted September 5th about being the stand in... No way he didn't do a proper camp. He also fought in June so there is no reason to presume this won't be a fully prepared fighter. Stop grasping for excuses already...

This will be a harder fight than the Pulev one, Takam has a great chin and puts fighters under pressure, something I'm not so sure AJ likes.

Still expect AJ to win, stoppage in the late rounds.

Takam will have a go, and he'll have his moments

But I expect Joshua to KO him in the mid/late stages of the fight, say rnd8

Takam beating Joshua is not impossible, but it is very unlikely to happen.

Better opponent that pulev for me. Pulev looks finished to me on recent showings...looks too slow nowadays. Had the exact opposite style to beat Joshua also. Think the height difference will kill takam tho...would have fancied him for the upset if he was slightly bigger cause he actually has a decent level of skill which I think will be nullified with the height/reach disadvantage. Always think the secret to beating Joshua is pushing him back...whyte and klitchko both had success with it. Guys like Molina tried to sit off him looking for the one big counter punch. You ll be waiting all night for it or at least till he gets to you first. he's too big to catch on the counter too quick with his punches...and fundamentally he's actually not too bad.. Got to push him back.

Whyte caused him problems with it. Joshua s always had problems moving backwards. He's like a truck going back. Feet are much faster going forward.

Haven't seen much of Takam but Joshua is a beatable guy and in heavyweight boxing anybody can get KO'd.

Joshua has to be the heavy favourite but Takam is never a pushover even in losing he usually gives his opponent a tough nights work. While his prep probably wasn't perfect he was on standby and set to fight on Hearn's 4th of Nov Monte Carlo card if he didn't step in to fight Joshua, so we can expect Takam to be in good shape as he was set to fight the week after.

I think Takam is a far more interesting opponent. He'll look to pressure Joshua and force him back, we really haven't see Joshua have to deal with that type of opponent before. Takam is durable and is unlikely to be blown out early, I think Joshua will have to break him down, but break him down he will, to win in the middle to late rounds.

EVERYONE has a chance against Joshua because he's so flawed. He's just such a strong starter and has that game changing punch and insane second wind so fighters have to take their chances when they come.

Dillian Whyte had his chance but his shoulder went at the same time and he couldn't finish it. Wlad had his chance but played it too safe and let Joshua get his second wind.

One HW who would NOT under any circumstances let Joshua get away is my G David Deron Haye. You need a ruthless, clinical finisher to do the job.

AJ can take a punch but I expect Takem to win some very early rounds but in the end I expect AJ to adapt and win by stoppage around the 8th

I rate Takam highly but I don't think he has the elite level pressure to make it count against Joshua. He's very good in spurts, jabs well, counters well, pressures well, but he also takes time off during rounds and occasionally overextends himself. He's also not a one punch hitter, which would mean he'd need to consistently tag Joshua before he could start to make himself felt. I expect him to be competitive with Joshua in the opening rounds, if not winning them then making Joshua work for them, but gradually I expect Joshua to break him down and get him out of there around the mid to latter half of the fight. Or it could all end in the first few rounds.

I expect Joshua's vicious uppercuts to play a big role here whatever the outcome. Takam will be ducking straight into them if he's not careful, and Parker had a lot of success with his own when he let his hands go. I can't see any realistic way Takam wins. He'll either be battered too badly to win on the scorecards, broken down and stopped late, or caught early by an explosive Joshua flurry.
