    it's still the old tiger

    such a poor record.

Yoka struggled with Dave Allen who is a novelty act in the UK so it's hardly a big scalp. Gold (silver) medalist or not he is not a very good boxer.

Who exactly was saying he was anything more than a tough as nails top tier journeyman, who always gives top fighters a run for their money, before ultimately coming up short?:nusenuse:

Takam in my opinion is an high euro level guy.

Takam was robbed a win against Perez. That's his best win. Perez himself was robbed a draw due a controversial point deduction near the end of the Jennings fight. I also had Takam up against Joyce before the premature stoppage.

Takam is better than anyone Wilder has beaten

His record may be poor but Takam has always been quality. He's like Steve Cunningham in that his record, while not impressive, belies how often he was able to give a lot of top fighters trouble. He gave both prime Povetkin and prime Parker major issues, was beating Chisora from pillar to post before he stupidly walked into a massive telegraphed OH right, and even gave Joshua some issues before the BS stoppage. Now in his later years he's still causing younger guys all sorts of issues. He was the first to take Makmudov the distance, and obviously just beat the hypejob Yoka. Only Joyce has really walked through him, and Takam was still holding his own in phases. I'd give him a more than respectable chance against any of the following: Chisora, Ortiz, Ruiz, Whyte, Parker, Hrgovic, any of the current prospects. At any rate no one has an easy night's work with him.

Agreed on the Perez point. He was also well on the way to winning against Chisora before the stoppage, though that's a bit like saying if my aunt had balls etc. It's a shame they haven't rematched. Both are pretty shopworn now for a victory to mean anything.

Strong and skilled, pretty tough, good engine. All his attributes are a notch off elite but he is pretty well rounded.

    Chin: 7/10
    Power: 5.5/10
    Stamina: 7/10
    Skills: 7.5/10
    Footspeed: 6/10
    Handspeed: 6.5/10
    Workrate: 8/10

Makes for a good European level type fighter, top journeyman for the world class.

Takam isn’t better than Ortiz. And are you confident Takam would beat everyone in Wilder’s resume? I’m not. He’s too mediocre. Got KO’d by freaking Chisora. Helenius probably beats him.

Takam pulled out of a signed fight with Ortiz to fight Duhaupas, which never materialised either:

    https://www.*******.com/takam-take-pass-on-luis-ortiz-focus-on-duhaupas--109566?print_friendly=1

Something these delusional clowns won't tell you.

Perez-Takam could have easily been a no contest (had Perez quit in the 3rd) due to Takam opening up a bad cut on Perez with an "accidental" headbutt. Takam got a draw and that was no more than he deserved.

Judging by Jennings' fights with Wlad and Joyce compared to Takam's with Joshua and Joyce, Takam wasn't as good as Jennings, who unlike Takam was willing to fight Ortiz.

Takam is at very least on par with Ortiz and clearly better than the likes Spzilka, Washington and Duhaupas.

Gatekeeper to the elite. He should be careful though, you can get hurt taking the money at this age, though it will be tempting.

I think most here would agree with him. I myself think a few guys on Wilder´s resume could beat Takam.

Draw with Perez. Fun scrap with Povetkin. Beat Thompson.
Been competitive against world class opponents since then, but typically comes up short.
Good enough to beat someone like Jerry Forrest.

Takam has sparring partner mentality. He gets overrated due to taking a lot of fights in the UK.

He'd fit in well with Wilder's post Stiverne 1/pre Ortiz 1 opponents, but wouldn't be a standout.
