O_O interesting development, apparently Rodriguez has vacated the WBO belt as well as the IBF.

If Takayama wins he becomes the first Japanese fighters to have one of all 4 titles

If Odaira wins he'll have won 3 titles in a calendar year after having won nothing in the previous years of his career!

So is Rodriguez definitively moving up?

According to the Japanese press "Rodriguez has vacated following problems making weight" so it seems like he's definitely heading to 108. The story is based from comments made by Mr Nakade, Takayama's trainer/mentor

Hmmm. Will be interesting to see if anything concrete pops up regarding Rodriguez and a move.

Tell me this, is there anything fishy about Now? Couple of weird decisions I heard, like he's being groomed for something?

Not really, he's promoted by Susumu Hanagata and has just been on a bit of a role recently. Not sure how he's gotten such a high ranking considering his wins recently have come against Masashi Tada, Yuma Iwahashi and Hiroya Yamamoto. I suspect it's more about Takayama than Odaira.

Takayama went to the WBO conference thing the other month and asked the WBO to consider him in the future so I guess they did just that.

Bad news for some contenders who probably had the opportunity to vie for the vacant title...I don't like this decision at all.
