Put them Into our current era with the modern day training, nutrition, performance enhances etc etc.

Who? Why? What damage do they cause to this current era?

JOCK McAVOY, a Middleweight box fighter, puncher, with approx 90 stoppages of 132 wins, including successes at L-HW and even some Heavyweights.

He would most certainly be a World Title Holder today, with even less of the effort!

Competition is lesser these days, fighters fight less, and guys like Al Haymon block a lot of the best fights, so while most are juiced to the gills, have superior nutrition etc; some of the training isn’t as good to train a boxer (obsession with weights), technique not taught as well, less elite trainers etc; You’ll see fighters today are vastly inferior because boxing is so technique and skill based. So when your fighting poor opposition, spend more time away from the gym etc; I don’t even think the PED’s help make todays guys better than older ones.

The man who knocked out an ex Manchester United managers dad who himself had over 80 ko's.
Jock was rock hard and Harry Levene loved him.
The mob wouldn't risk Babe Risko defending his title against the Rochdale Thunderbolt but McAvoy was only one of hundreds who suffered because of those parasitic leeches
McAvoy even scored a ko out of the window of his invalid carriage when he had polio

Many of the great fighters from the 40's would adapt, from Pep and Saddler up to Joe Louis.
I'm a firm believer that modern always beats old but the likes of Ike Williams, Ezzard Charles, Walker Smith junior and Johnny Bratton were class.

Langford. Give the man a chance at a real career, see what he can really do when he doesn't have to deal with the color line, when he can earn actual money. Modern training is just a bonus.

The old guys fought way more often. I think that extra ring time would help them against current guys -- just adjust weight classes. Don't have old school 6'0" 190lb'ers campaign at HW in the modern world. Don't send a young 6'1, 189lb Joe Louis in against 6'9", 275lb Tyson Fury. Send him in against Beterbiev and Bivol.

or with 4 months to Make Weight, you'd have him at MW, S-MW, just like the other 6' 1" middleweights & Super Middles today...

Assuming you could get him down that low without sapping his power, holy cow would he be a terror.

It was said that Dave could handle himself pretty well. Must have taken a bit of coaching from his dad.

How about Bob Foster? He was never succseful attempting to beat the top heavyweights but how would he have fared
had he had access to modern bulking up training methods such as Roy Jones and Michael Spinks did? I reckon that a 1970 Joe Frazier and 1972 Muhammad Ali would still have been a step too far but he would have no doubt been more competitive and would have beaten some more moderately talented big men.

No doubt he'll have picked up some tips from his dad.
I love to have seen that fight between McAvoy and Babe Risko when he bounced him off the floor 6 times.
He knocked him down with his first punch.
The Americans must've got one hell of a shock.
