I mean I don't think he's really wrong, the Ruiz loss was a fluke where AJ ****ed up and got punished for it. He beat Ruiz with ease 2nd fight, doesn't matter if Ruiz put on more pounds in the 2nd fight, he easily beat him in the rematch.

Against Usyk, Joshua was well prepared and he looked very good in the ring but he just got schooled, AJ didn't **** up or anything, didn't get too confident and knocked out, he got comprehensively beaten over 12 rounds.

Haha "it doesn't matter if Ruiz put on more pounds"

Well, it kind of does. That's the reason it was so easy.

No, the reason was that AJ fought at range and kept Ruiz at bay.
In the first fight HE chose to fight Ruiz on the inside which was idiotic.
Ruiz wouldn't have gotten to AJ even if he was 25lbs lighter in the rematch.

You're coming from a position of considerable conjecture, because nobody knows how Ruiz would have fared had he come in 10kg or so lighter. Joshua was able to keep Ruiz at bay because Ruiz was a blob and seemingly had little ambition.

I think you need to get over he's past tense. Went life and death with a 41 y/o, brutally knocked out by a fat Mexican stand in and schooled for 12 by a cruiserweight

Well, people should get used to his wisdom because the English will absolutely pay him millions to go on speaking tours when he is done and possibly make him a high level politician, maybe even Lord Emperor of Great Britain. He represents everything the English stand for, everything they fight wars for. Enjoy AJ, a gift to the world!

Parker was able to beat Ruiz on the outside and Ruiz was in much better shape in that fight. Joshua beat Parker in the same way. Triangle theories don't always work but we do know that standing and trading with Ruiz doesn't make sense if you can stay at range. Joshua beats Ruiz all day at range

I’m not saying he’s the best fighter ever, I’m saying if it wasn’t for him heavyweight would be another 4 champ division with no unifications

Joshua was never a skilled boxer. He was just a great athlete and overcame the lack of skills with power, size and strength against very carefully picked opponents in a very weak Heavyweight Division. He also had the benefit of fighting at home getting favorable refs and judges (Parker fight for example). Additionally Hearn and ReMatchroom Boxing did a great job promoting him as the next big thing after he got that robbery Gold medal at the Olympics and they kept that up for a long time period because Brits fell in love with him KO'ing people left and right.

People shouldn't make Joshua better than he actually is. He's an ATG athlete but he's not even close to an ATG boxer. He wouldn't be a Top 20 fighter with his skills in a lower weight class like 160 or 147. He's super, super limited in all areas (footwork, inside fighting, technique, variety, head movement, defense etc.)

Nope, Wlad would have just got all his straps back. Joshua was lucky as hell to hear him remember.

That’s ridiculous, Wlad was on his way to retirement. He at most would’ve gotten 1 or 2 more belts than vacate because of his age. Then boom another 4 champ division

Parker has a much better chin/recovery and stamina than AJ and AJ had considerable help from the Matchroom referee against Parker. If AJ wanted to beat Ruiz in tip top condition (by his standards) he would have had to absorb punches to do so, a fair few more than the 60 he took over 12 rounds in the rematch. AJ was also psychologically vulnerable in the rematch, far less confident than the pre-Ruiz AJ who outpointed Parker. Had Ruiz lost 15 lbs rather than gaining 15 lbs and trained hard instead of partying, it's very conceivable that he could have stopped AJ again.

Promoter to AJ: Would you step aside for one billion dollars?
    AJ: Sure.
Promoter: How about for ten dollars?
AJ: What do you think I am?
Promoter: We’ve already established what you are. All we’re doing is bargaining about price.

15lbs wouldn't turn Ruiz into a mobile, light on his toes fighter. He's a plodder.

Joshua beats Ruiz on the outside everytime. Parker showed the blueprint and Joshua is better at range than Parker. It's pretty obvious who should win between Ruiz and Joshua.
