I criticized the hell out of Kell Brook for the amount of holding he did against Porter, and Floyd deserves that same criticism. That being said, I still had Brook winning comfortably and Floyd as well. More telling was Floyd's admittance of being completely drained for this fight and feeling more comfortable in the first fight, despite the fact that he took far more punishment in that fight and took nearly no punishment in this one. I'm pretty certain Floyd sees the writing on the wall and realizes that his body isn't going to be able to hold up much longer. I see him taking a pedestrian fight in May and trying to matchup with Pacquiao in his career ender in September. Both have shown, quite a few vulnerabilities in their last few fights, so it's not a forgone conclusion either wins. Either way, Floyd's now fighting on borrowed time, he's not gonna be able to hold the younger lions off of him anymore.
Floyd's face looked rough for some reason. Also Floyd got hit with the best punch of the fight tonight, and landed much better punches in the first fight. He did 0 damage to Maidana in this fight, almost all of his right hands were JUST hitting Maidana and did next to nothing, Maidana also pulled his head back just in time. He did better the first fight offensive wise.
Floyd took MUCH more punishment in this fight. Maidana did practically nothing, and I mean NOTHING that was legal and effective in the first fight. He was much better in this one, Floyd was worse. He's way past his prime, I'd say maybe 60% of what he was. but he's a tough guy with a great chin.
Maidana fought better in the first fight. Maidana conditioning wasn't the same it's clear to see he didn't sustain it for 12 rounds.
