That's exactly what I saw, but listening to most hate on the Aj performance and praise takam I thought maybe I didn't see what I thought. Surviving without giving yourself a chance to get lucky or steal rounds isn't a good performance. Him going all out and getting stopped early is 100% a better performance. Are people just needing to hate Aj no matter what that they try spreading things that never happened ? I think I'm the only one who would had done (maybe earlier) what ref did. Stopping a compete mismatch after the interior fighter refuses to fight and been hurt multiple times is the right thing to do. Aj was too heavy, that's if fighting dw, fury or even Parker or if dubis turns out to have it but vs takam he literally needed to be able to lightly spar 12 easy rounds to win clearly. Those fights aren't needed, shouldn't be allowed. N the fight turned out exactly as I, add Aj thought
Only the ignorant posters don't fully understand the reason most are picking takam. Picking takam over BS because Dw is fighting him sat and you need your pre bull**** pick for the inevitable (if that was takam blah blah utter nonsense) Also, the fools claiming takam fought "good" last weekend, all to give ammunition to later troll both dw and Aj. The two top dogs are the only ones trolls hate on.. we could literally tell one who's never seen boxing to read these boards and pick out the most talked about negatively and we'd have most of the best fighters in the world.. Trolls gonna troll and haters gonna hate. Because all the best fighters are THREATS to your old school true tough fighters. The golden era? The best era always are the decade before the current best. Every generation of fan thinks the part generation was far greater. Exactly what will happen the very next gen....
haven't seen "this version" this is it for BS, if you think he's coming in with anything less than everything you're crazy. It'll be a legit good win for DW. He'll hurt him like round 2 (ref screwed that up like the first or second? Round of Bradley and the Russian?) He was hurt bad and most likely would had been stopped with most refs. When the fighter gets caught and goes down, usually when the fall Judah style multiple times while simply trying to get up is stopped 99% of the time. it was a mirror of the Rjj rematch off the dq. Nobody, no-one complained about the judah Rjj (forget that opponents name) stoppage, outside zab himself
You guys don't get it, being inactive is looked at as bad for the growing fighter. More often than not, a long (usually very needed) rest period can rejuvenate the older fighter. If it doesn't they don't train their behind off and simply only want the paycheck. If that was the case BS wouldn't has made such a fuss about taking the stepside free cash and waiting till next fight. Nope, he made a deal about it and made sure he has a fight lined up. .He could had made more for less IF he's a dead fighter. BS in shape would handle takam and be very dangerous for povetkin, catches him like many have could spell trouble... But since he's fighting dw (a fighter many couldn't let themselves give him credit) so he has to suck and would lose top any top 25 hw... got it
No, we haven't seen "this version" of Stiverne but a number of sources have rumoured that he's in bad shape and not doing well in sparring either. I also doubt his motivation. Inactivity isn't bad if a fighter uses it to prepare and rejuvenate but it is bad if it's not used properly, as too often happens.
I was shocked when i saw some responses on this forum after the fight and thought i have probably missed something therefore i rewatched the fight a couple of times but no, it really was one sided beatdown from start to finish and it also was a pretty entertaining fight in my opinion. Takam showed good defensive skills, heart and chin but he wasn't capable of being competitive, Joshua did exactly what he was supposed to do. The stoppage was ok, probably a little too early but at the end of the day it made no difference, the ref saved his health and did his job.
If that's true, he's a waste. I've only heard berm himself claim he's training like never before. I took that as training best he could. I guess you know more details inside then I.. I'm only going off what a fighter at his positron should be addressing this camp
That's exactly how I saw it. Takam was making Aj chase him all around the ring. He showed his durability (better than expected, lot had to do with his lack of throwing). I didn't hate the fight but it wasn't a fight that could ever have a different ending. I agree, the stoppage was one combo thrown too early for most fans but I don't enjoy fights where the fighter literally can't lose, unless it was fmj the last never ending decade of his career.. He's the only fighter I pray he wins easy, everyday. You with me on Aj should be addressing his weight ? Nothing to do with stamina, he doesn't gas, Wlad took his energy. He simply looks slower than when he was high 230s. I just don't want to see him lose because he refused to change his beach body. It's not the ideal fighters body. He won't lose power, he'll gain sick hand speed which will be the final touch to name him the best he can be. Don't sell your career even a tiny bit short for ego reasons
Like everyone else - Takam. He just has better defence, more experience against top opposition like Povetkin, Parker and Joshua. Stirverne couldnt get inside Wilder and didnt look too good against Rossy.
Takam seems to be the better skilled. lets wait and see Stiverne bc he has been trained by Ali Bashir for this one who in my opinion is probably the best U.S trainer. The thing is wilder is not overly difficult as some wish to believe to get in on,as opposed to even not fully prepared Joshua vs a similar 6'1/6'2 opponent like Takam. Ive already posted as well that Takam looked in the best shape at the right weight against Joshua. i think that Takam would really give most top guys problems just based on that fight.
